Brad Pitt Films Cameo for ‘21 Jump Street’ Sequel

How could the sequel to 21 Jump Street top its predecessor's Johnny Depp cameo? Simple: cast Brad Pitt!
The 12 Years a Slave producer and star is joining forces (for a little screen time, anyway) with his Moneyball co-star Jonah Hill in the upcoming sequel to the 2012 film adaptation of the 80's television series. Though Pitt is known for dramas and thrillers, funnyman Hill was able to coax the 50-year-old star into appearing in 22 Jump Street.
Pitt's cameo sees him as a lowly librarian when Hill and co-star Channing Tatum come across him as he puts on a poor acting performance. "The scene is very funny and the guys had a great time doing it. Brad was a great sport and the producers were thrilled that he took part," an insider said. While the proverbial beans seem to have been spilled with Pitt's cameo (unlike Depp's, which was suspected but never confirmed prior to release of the first film), the Oscar-nominated actor is sure to still deliver the laughs.
22 Jump Street hits theaters on June 13, 2014.

+ After a Tumblr user in Italy questioned a 12 Years a Slave poster featuring Brad Pitt (whose role in the film - despite his producing credit - is minimal), Lionsgate released a statement claiming that the advertisements (another similar one featured Michael Fassbender, who is also a supporting actor) were unauthorized and not approved by the filmmakers.
+ Saving Mr. Banks director John Lee Hancock has been picked to rewrite the Magnificent Seven remake, which Tom Cruise was previously attached to work on. No word yet as to who is set to replace Cruise.
+ In doing promotional rounds for his latest film 47 Ronin, Keanu Reeves ruled out any participation from him in the upcoming Point Break remake.
+ Fortunately for Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure fans, Reeves did state that he's open to doing a third film, which would follow Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.

VIDEO: First Look at Johnny Depp in ‘Transcendence’
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Drama, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
Will Transcendence finally be the one Johnny Depp film these days that isn't a complete flop? From the looks of the trailer - which begins promisingly but then ends on a rather boring note (we don't need a film to tell us that our society spends way too much time plugged in online these days) - I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Even my excitement in the fact that this is the directorial debut of Christopher Nolan's favorite cinematographer, Wally Pfister, has been lost after seeing the trailer.
Who knows - perhaps I shouldn't judge a film on its trailer. Hopefully when I check out Transcendence (in theaters starting April 18, 2014), I won't be thinking about how it seems like a bad quasi-prequel to The Matrix.

Shia LaBeouf May Face Legal Action for Plagiarism

Shia LaBeouf may face legal action for plagiarism over a short film he made.
The Transformers actor could be taken to court after being accused of the "blatant" borrowing of another artist's story for his project Howard Cantour.com without giving proper credit. Shia's project, which debuted online on Monday follows the story of a troubled internet film critic, and is extremely similar to a 2007 graphic novella by artist Daniel Clowes called Justin M. Damiano.
According to the New York Daily News newspaper, Clowes declined to comment, but his publisher Fantagraphics' Eric Reynolds claims the artist "is exploring his legal options." "LeBeouf changed the name of the main character, but he used the comic as a direct script and storyboard. Clowes has a real melodramatic voice that is very idiosyncratic and LaBeouf just used the dialogue word for word. There is no ambiguity. There is no way that anybody wrote this but Dan Clowes. It just defies any kind of logic or good sense. This was so blatant and inexcusable that it was as baffling as it was appalling," Eric told the publication.
Shia has since apologized for copying ideas from Clowes in a heartfelt statement posted online, admitting how "embarrassed" he feels about the situation. Howard Cantour.com has since been taken off the internet.
Shia LaBeouf Rips Off ‘Ghost World’ Artist

Shia LaBeouf just can't come out with a project these days without stirring up a bit of controversy. Whether it's with Alec Baldwin on Broadway or Brad Pitt on the set of Fury, it seems as though he's constantly angering someone when it comes to his craft. Today, that someone is Ghost World artist Daniel Clowes.
Although his short film HowardCantour.com - which stars Jim Gaffigan - already premiered at last year's Cannes Film Festival, it was its online unveiling yesterday that allowed people to take notice and quickly thereafter become outraged over its blatant plagiarism of Clowes' 2007 comic Justin M. Damiano.

Will Ferrell Talks Kanye West ‘Anchorman 2’ Cameo

Will Ferrell tried to keep Kanye West happy on the set of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
The "Black Skinhead" makes a cameo appearance in the much-anticipated comedy sequel, and Will - who plays lead character Ron Burgundy in the movie - admitted his new co-star struggled to get to grips with the filming schedule. "He was playing [his new music] through the sound department, on the speakers on set, at the park, as people were setting up for the next shot. Which was great. But then he didn't understand when it had to be turned off, when it was time to actually film. He was like, 'Hey man, what's going on?' We didn't want Kanye to get upset, but at the same time, we kind of had to film," he told Rolling Stone.
As well as giving the crew a sneak peak of his tracks, Kanye also treated them to the occasional performance, which director Adam McKay described as hilarious: "I think it was 'New Slaves' - the really strident one. Whichever one gets off on a rant. He was like, 'You guys want to listen to some new tracks?' We're like, 'Yeah, sure!' Then he started performing, and it gets to the point where he's screaming. He goes a full 100-miles-an-hour. Then he'd turn off and go, 'Anyway, thanks.' It was hilarious."

Ben Stiller cemented his hand and footprints into Hollywood history on Tuesday.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty star cast his prints outside the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX, making him a member of an exclusive club populated by cinematic legends including Marilyn Monroe, Clint Eastwood and Rita Hayworth. Speaking ahead of casting his prints, he told BANG Showbiz, "I've always loved the history of Hollywood and the history of the movies. It's very, very meaningful to me, and to be in any way a part of it is a dream come true. I'm humbled, touched and very proud to know that wherever I go, long after I'm dead, my footprints will be here in Hollywood, being stood on by a fake Shrek posing for tourists for a dollar."
Ben - star of Night at the Museum, Zoolander and Meet the Parents as well as director of The Cable Guy and Tropic Thunder- was introduced by his movie star friend, Tom Cruise. "It's a crowning accomplishment for Ben and I think it's so appropriate today that he is here being honored at this historical event. I'm very honored to be here to announce him and give it to him. Henry Cavill: Affleck Will Be a “Fantastic” Batman
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Science Fiction, Sequels, Casting, Celeb News, Upcoming Releases,
Henry Cavill is sure Ben Affleck will make a "fantastic" Batman.
The Man Of Steel actor's Superman will be pitted against Ben's character in the provisionally titled Batman Vs Superman in 2015, and he's positive the star will do a great job of playing the superhero.
"I'm sure he'll be fantastic, above all else. As a filmmaker he's got his own style, he's not copying anyone else. He's been tenacious in his career, he's had ups followed by downs and now he's up again. I think that requires and shows a special strength of character and it's something I enjoy working with because jobs like this require a dedication to the work and belief in one's self, and Ben has that," he said.
