Barbra Streisand: Seth Rogen’s Mother?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Paramount, Comedy, Casting, Upcoming Releases,
While it remains unclear whether Barbra Streisand will star in a remake of Gypsy, there is one role she will definitely be playing: Seth Rogen's mother
The Little Fockers actress will work alongside the Green Hornet actor in My Mother's Curse, a comedy from Paramount Pictures.
The film, which has been in the development stage for several years now, centers on an inventor who takes his mother along on a sales road trip. During their travels, Rogen also works on reuniting his mom with a former love.
Production on the film is set to begin this spring. The Proposal's Anne Fletcher has been tapped to direct.

Give a slimmed-down Seth Rogen a media empire, high-tech toys, an Asian sidekick named Kato (Jay Chou) and a hot blonde secretary (Cameron Diaz) - and what do you get? The latest adaptation The Green Hornet.
In the Columbia Pictures film, Britt Reid (Rogen) gets a chance to play the superbad character who poses as villains in order to be the hero. The Michel Gondry-drected film also stars Oscar winner Christoph Waltz (Benjamin Chudnofsky) as the nemesis and Tom Wilkinson (Jack Reid) as Rogen’s father.

Pineapple Express Meets Disinterest at Comic-Con
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Columbia Pictures, Action, Adventure, Comedy, Box Office, Rumors, Upcoming Releases,
While it never appears to be a good sign when at least a third of an audience leaves prior to one’s panel at Comic-Con, I am definitely rooting for Pineapple Express when it hits theaters in a couple weeks!
As depressing as that can be for anyone at such a hyped event, I would venture to say that Judd Apatow‘s latest project failed to meet success at the event due to misplacement. I mean, promoting a stoner movie to die-hard comic book fans? These are audiences who went crazy last year over The Dark Knight and The Incredible Hulk, and this year with Watchmen—not exactly the type whose favorite movies include Dazed and Confused or Dude, Where’s My Car?.

Box Office Breakdown: Almighty Only Does Alrighty

Question: When is being the #1 movie just not enough? (Hint: You have three chances to answer this question correctly).
Answer(s):
- When the critics don’t really have anything good to say about you
- When you made less than 1/2 of what your predecessor did on opening weekend
- When it cost over $175 million just to create you
Apparently having God on your side doesn’t guarantee you heavenly box office numbers. Evan Almighty, the follow-up to 2003’s Bruce Almighty, failed to bring in a large congregation this past weekend. Although it did better than the rest of the flock, it’s $32 million take paled in comparison to Bruce’s $68 million opening. And then there’s that glaring $175 million bill…
Of course, we shouldn’t feel so badly about Steve Carell’s career. I have a feeling that God is providing for him in other ways.
