Quote of the Day: Joseph Gordon-Levitt on Making Profitable, Good Films
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Mystery, Noir, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Filmmaking, Upcoming Releases,
“There’s a lot of stuff that gets created for the love of it, and there’s a lot that really does get created with almost no love involved. Just to make money. I think of Chris Nolan as a shining example of somebody who can do something for the love and still succeed at the money game. A lot of people make excuses and say, ‘Ah, well, there’s no room for love here. We have to make money.’ And I love to point to Chris Nolan and say, ‘F*ck you guys. This guy’s making more money than you are, and he’s making beautiful, genuine movies.’”

You cannot focus completely on pleasing them because you’ll never win. They’ll never be happy no matter what you do… Peter Jackson and company won like 30 something Oscars for those movies.”

Quote of the Day: Leonard Nimoy on Directing William Shatner
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Science Fiction, Celebrity Gossip, Filmmaking,
“I had been wanting to direct for some time. I had been told many times, ‘You should be a director,’ and I always took it as an insult; there must be something wrong with my acting. When Bill Shatner heard I was going to direct a Star Trek movie he went into deep shock. He was really worried. Look, everybody knows that we have become very, very good friends. But we’ve always been like two competitive siblings. But [as for me directing him] it worked out pretty well.”

Jonah Hill Confirms How to Train Your Dragon Sequel
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: DreamWorks, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Family, Sequels, Comedy, Box Office, Celeb News, Filmmaking, Upcoming Releases,
While it shouldn’t be much of a shock considering the animated film’s success, Jonah Hill has confirmed there will be a How to Train Your Dragon sequel.
The actor, who provides the voice to bullying character Snotlout in the 3-D animated adventure, confirmed plans were in motion for a follow-up to the first movie, which grossed $448 million internationally upon its release earlier this year.
“Yeah, we’re going to make a sequel. I’m excited about that. I just talked to Jeffrey Katzenberg and he told me we were going to make a sequel. It’ going to be fun. Those movies are fun.”
The 26-year-old star, who is currently promoting his latest film Get Him to the Greek with British funny man Russell Brand, also admits his long-term plan is to work behind the lens on movies: “I just love films. I love talking about movies. I love watching movies. I want to be a director. That’s my ultimate goal and I like writing and producing movies. “Honestly, I just want to look back on my career and be proud of every film that I do and not worry about what genre it is or how people perceive me or if I have fans. That’s far less important to me than the quality of what you’re doing.”
