Jason Bateman Says Juno Not to Blame for Teen Pregnancies

Juno

It was inevitable. Once word got out about the 17 pregnant teens at Gloucester High School, we knew the blame would start flying. We also knew the entertainment industry would eventually be named one of the responsible parties.

Somewhere out there, there are people who seriously believe that Jamie Lynn Spears has glamorized teenage pregnancies. These same people are probably not taking these two very important factors into consideration:

  1. I’m sure Jamie-Lynn didn’t want to be a 17-year-old mother.
  2. The Zoey 101 star can probably afford to raise a child, unlike a lot of teenage mothers out there. Therefore, giving her baby up for adoption might not have been a necessary option.

Reitman Says No to Juno Sequel

Ellen Page, JunoAcademy Award-nominated director has just given us the best and worst news possible.  He loves his recent film, Juno, so much, he refuses to participate in any sequel.  (Of course, that doesn’t mean one couldn’t be made without him.)

What?  You didn’t know there was going to be a sequel?  Well, if common sense rules - there won’t be.  But apparently the movie’s $100+ million gross, Oscar noms and critical acclaim have earned the film just that type of buzz.

While some might consider that kind of talk disrespectful (Why would they dare ruin a perfect experience?), I think we should just consider the rumors to be a form of flattery (They only make sequels for good things, right?) and not entertain them any further.

Seriously.  We all need to let go.

Unboxing: The Official ‘Juno’ Hamburger Phone

Juno Phone 1

It isn’t too often we here at FilmCrunch get to do an official unboxing like our sister site, Unboxing.com. But I kind of think this actually one-ups their normal gadgetry, allowing you to get your vicarious thrills doubly—it’s cool and it’s related to one of this year’s best films, Juno. Case in point, I give you the Official Juno Hamburger Phone. Yes, that so-ugly-and-weird-that-it’s-cute-and-I-actually-really-want-one phone was handed to me as part of the film’s promotion, and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

I haven’t had the chance to use it yet—I don’t have a landline—but I hear it works about as well as the one from the movie. Remind me not to use it the next time I call my local abortion clinic.

Check the rest of the meaty, telephony photos after the jump.
