The Interview, the movie release that’s been at the center of media hysteria for the past week, is now available to stream from the comfort of your home after having its theatrical release pulled. You can still catch the movie in theaters starting tomorrow, Christmas Day, but you’ll only find it in 300 select independent theaters. In order to reach the masses, Sony decided to partner with Xbox Video, YouTube, and Google Play in conjunction with its own SeeTheInterview.com site on streaming the feature into the homes of potential viewers.
As far as pricing goes, you can rent The Interview for $5.99, or buy it for $14.99. Will you be watching?

James Franco Blasts ‘Spring Breakers’ Sequel

James Franco has blasted the Spring Breakers sequel.
The 36-year-old actor, who played the character Alien in the first movie alongside Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, appears in a bizarre video posted on his Instagram account today, in which he insists second film would not be a good idea.
The star, whose Instagram has become the talk of Hollywood after he started posting half naked selfies for fans, is seen eating rice cakes in bed with his eyes closed while being filmed by a mystery woman. "This is James feeling a bit sick cos he smoked too much dope in the club. His tummy is a bit sensitive," she said. He accompanied the video with the caption, "ALIEN IN REHAB! And BTW F*** that SBers 2 BS, they're doing it without HARMONY'S CONSENT. Sounds LAME AS A MUTHA! [sic]."
The star made reference to director Harmony Korine, who worked on the first movie, after reports the second film will be written by Trainspotting and Filth author, Irvine Welsh.

Though usually co-starring with Franco in comedies like Pineapple Express and Your Highness, Danny McBride shows off his dramatic acting chops in the trailer for the film, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival.

James Franco: Sex Films Lost Me Advertising Deals

James Franco has lost advertising deals because the companies were unhappy with him backing films about gay sex and the porn industry.
The Oz the Great and Powerful star recently produced Kink, a documentary about a hardcore porn studio, and directed Interior: Leather Bar - which features gay sex scenes - and he admits working on such daring projects is always a "risk" because of how it impacts other elements of his career.
"It is a risk. The films I have did get a lot of praise, but I did get some pressure from other areas. I was supposed to do a commercial with this company and they pulled out because they weren't happy, they didn't like the subject matter of the films. It was a champagne company. You'd think they'd be grown up enough but I've had it happen with this company and a car company as well," he admitted.
However, the 34-year-old actor insists he will never let the decisions he makes on projects to be influenced by how they will impact on his later career: "If I'm at the threshold of doing a project and the question comes up, 'Will this be harmful to your career?,' I never want that to be a deciding factor."

Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens are on the fast track to shedding their innocent Disney images - starting with Harmony Korine's latest film, Spring Breakers. In the film's latest poster, the pair are joined by their other bikini-clad co-stars Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine (Harmony's wife) while James Franco towers over them with a gun pointing at the viewer.
Spring Breakers hits theaters - appropriately - this Spring.

Jonah Hill and James Franco are teaming up for True Story.
The Moneyball star and the 127 Hours actor will appear in the movie adaptation of Michael Finkel's memoir which will see Jonah play the writer who establishes a connection with captured criminal Christian Longo (James) after it is revealed he had been using Finkel's identity while on the run. When Finkel's employers The New York Times fired him the day after Longo's arrest amid claims he had falsified parts of a recent investigative article, the writer tried to redeem himself through interviews with Longo, who refused to speak to any other journalist.

James Franco to Play Hugh Hefner?

James Franco is in negotiations to play Hugh Hefner in Lovelace.
The 127 Hours actor may portray the Playboy magazine founder in the movie starring Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace - best known for her starring role in porn movie Deep Throat - after passing on the opportunity to play her husband Chuck Traynor.
The role would be a cameo and only require one day of shooting, but talks have not yet been completed to find a date suitable for him, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A heavy-hitting cast including Sharon Stone, Peter Sarsgaard, Chris Noth and Juno Temple are already signed on to star.
Production on the project is already underway, with shooting in Los Angeles beginning last week. Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are directing the picture.
James - who earlier this year put in a turn as presenter when he hosted the Academy Awards with Anne Hathaway - has a number of movies coming up, including Wizard of Oz prequel Oz: The Great and Powerful and Spring Breakers.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes Sequel Already Planned

Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt is already planning a sequel.
The movie - starring James Franco as San Francisco scientist Will Rodman and Frieda Pinto as primatologist Caroline Aranha - performed strongly on its US release last weekend, and Rupert believes the possibilities for a new film are endless.
"There's so much we could do. The ideas I've had are all sorts of things, ranging from Full Metal Jacket with apes, you could start this story again eight years from where we left off, the next generation of apes, those that have come from our protagonists, perhaps going in to a conflict with humans and showing real fear, in the same way as going into war for young soldiers in this day and age, telling their story."
Rupert believes the interactions between apes and humans is a fascinating story and is keen to explore this more in any future sequels: "Or we could look at how apes are taking over cities, and being moved into human environments and having to interact with them and deal with things that are part of our culture and understand and evolve through them. Spies that are in the employ of the apes, working against humans and humans maybe existing underground, because that's a way they can avoid the virus, coming up above ground wearing gas masks, and maybe that's what dehumanizes them."
