Christian Bale Based Psycho Character on Tom Cruise

Christian Bale as Patrick BatemanIt’s pretty bad when Hollywood royalty bashes you. To find out that one of the most infamous on screen serial killers was based on your persona has to hurt a little, too.

American Psycho director Mary Harron reveals that actor Christian Bale based the sinister Patrick Bateman on Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise.

“One day he [Bale] called me and he had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and he just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy.”

While I have not personally looked into Cruise’s eyes, I now look at images of the actor and get a bit creeped out because of that knowledge. At the same time, I feel that Cruise’s wife, Katie Holmes, holds more of this so-called emptiness behind her eyes—she’s the one leeching off the superstar’s wealth and career, after all. Just an observation!

Charlize Theron Purring Over Catwoman Role

Charlize Theron as Catwoman?Considering that Megan Fox can be counted out, Charlize Theron is now proclaiming how she’d love to “kick a*s” as Catwoman.

The Hollywood actress is thrilled to learn that she is in the running to play the super-villain alongside Christian Bale and Sir Michael Caine in the upcoming sequel to Batman blockbuster The Dark Knight.

“It’s news to me, but that’s kick-a*s news. I like that… I think that what has happened to that franchise is amazing, and director Chris Nolan is a genius. So I would be an idiot to not consider that.”

If the 34-year-old starlet accepts the role, she will be following in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry, who have both donned the iconic leather catsuit on the big screen.

Other actresses linked to the role include Angelina Jolie and Rachel Weisz.

Disappearing Star Christian Bale

Christian Bale as Dicky EklundChristian Bale keeps pulling a Bruce Wayne on the set of his new movie, frequently disappearing on set.

The actor has bemused co-stars on his new movie The Fighter, which he is filming in Massachusetts with Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adam, with his insistence on “getting into character” and refusing to be seen when he isn’t filming.

A source told E!: “You only see him when it’s time for his scenes. Other than that, no one has any idea where he is. He just goes missing.”

Bale is determined to accurately portray former crack addict Dicky Eklund in the movie, which follows the life of boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward, and has stunned people with his appearance.

The source explained: “Christian has lost almost as much weight as he did for The Machinist. He is so gaunt. They have even thinned his hair—he just looks sickly.”
