Although he admits the WWII-era film is a bit hard to describe, the Office star didn’t have any difficulty heaping praise on one of the “coolest movies” he’s “ever seen or been a part of.”

Still getting used to the spelling of Quentin Tarantino‘s new film? (It was once spelled Inglorious Bastards.) Well, you’ll now have until this fall to get the title mastered.
The WWII drama about Jewish-American soldiers on a mission to kill to Nazis has just been scheduled for an August 21 release. The film, which will be be distributed by the Weinstein Company in the States (by Universal internationally), marks Tarantino’s attempt at a period film. Production began in Germany back in October.
Inglourious Basterds stars Brad Pitt, Mike Myers, BJ Novak, Eli Roth and Diane Kruger.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Cloris Leachman: She may not have won a mirror-ball trophy, but she was able to snag something even bigger. Oscar-winner Cloris Leachman was recently added to Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (formerly spelled Inglorious Bastards) cast. The 82-year-old will cameo as Mrs. Himmelstein, an elderly Jewish woman who inspires Eli Roth’s character to seek vengeance. The WWII movie already has Brad Pitt, Mike Myers, Diane Kruger and B.J. Novak in its lineup.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Quentin Tarantino has finally injected a bit of estrogen into his growing Inglorious Bastards cast. Diane Kruger - probably best known for her work in the National Treasure installments - has just been added to the WWII-era film.
Kruger, who was born in Germany, will play Bridget Von Hammersmark, a German actress who helps a group of American Nazi killers. (That group is lead by Aldo Raine, Brad Pitt’s character.) The role will allow Diane to speak in both English and her native tongue.
This will be the second time Kruger has worked with the father of six. The two both starred in 2004’s Troy.
Inglorious Bastards - also starring Eli Roth, Mike Myers and B.J. Novak - begins filming in Germany on October 13.

Pitt, Novak, and Roth Line Up For Bastards

UPDATE: Funnyman Mike Myers has also been recruited! You can find the details here.
As promised, Quentin Tarantino has definitely not stopped working on his epic WWII film, Inglorious Bastards, ever since he completed the script. After years of speculation concerning casting, a few of the roles have recently been confirmed (finally).
What came as quite a shock to most (considering Tarantino’s usual taste in actors), Hollywood heavyweight Brad Pitt was cast as the lead role of Jewish soldier Aldo Raine. Then again, it is only appropriate that Pitt play a part in a real Tarantino film, considering he had a minor role in Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers.
