Amanda Seyfried to Star in ‘Ted 2’

Amanda SeyfriedAmanda Seyfried will star in Ted 2.

The actress has been cast as the girlfriend of lead character John Bennett, played by Mark Wahlberg. The same role was taken by Mila Kunis in the first film - which saw her character, Lori, marry John at the end - but she will only have a small role, or will not appear at all in the sequel, according to Deadline.com.

The reason for the change of female lead has been put down to a creative decision by Seth MacFarlane, the movie's creator, who will produce, write and co-star in the sequel as the titular character, a foul-mouthed teddy bear who has been brought to life by John. Les Miserables star Amanda has previously said she will go to great lengths to get film roles, and is not above "begging" for a part she wants.

"Three years ago, a director told me I wasn't made for a certain role and he didn't want to meet me. I called up the casting director and begged him to let me have a trial. I went and he once again told me it was a no. I contacted an acting coach, which I never normally do, and went back in a different outfit and did the audition in a different accent, begging them to see me another time. They gave the role to someone else: but it didn't matter, I just wanted to be sure I had done my best. It's my biggest strength: not being scared of doing castings that some actresses think they're above. I had five auditions for Les Miserables! Of course, I would never go as far as getting undressed to land a role," she previously said.

VIDEO: Trailer for Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Million Ways to Die’

if you've ever wondered what 1,000 Ways to Die would be like if it were set in a fictional town during the American Old West, Seth MacFarlane has answered your prayers.

In his upcoming A Million Ways to Die in the West, the Family Guy creator - who co-wrote and directed the film - stars as Albert, a nobody-type guy who falls for Charlize Theron's character, who in turn teaches him how to become a good enough gunslinger to rival Liam Neeson's villainous outlaw. The comedy - which, judging from the trailer (seen above), seems to deliver on the gore - also stars Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, and Neil Patrick Harris and hits theaters on May 30.

Cinecast: Star Wars VII Casting, Tarantino’s New Film, Marvel’s ‘Ultimates’

Margot Robbie+ Jesse Plemons - famous for both his role as Breaking Bad's Todd and looking a lot like a younger Philip Seymour Hoffman - is apparently being called back for Star Wars: Episode VII auditions, although Disney/Lucasfilm is keeping mum about it.

+ No one has been cast yet and it's due to begin production this summer, but because it's a Quentin Tarantino project, you can guarantee that it will be full of awesomesauce. Especially considering the name of the film is officially The Hateful Eight (for those who don't know, it's a reference to the famous 1960 western The Magnificient Seven).

+ Marvel has released details on its upcoming Ultimates project, which will apparently not feature one single white guy (yay!) - both leading male superheroes will be of a non-white background. Also more yayness: the All-New Ultimates will see FOUR female superheroes on the team.

+ Despite the meteoric success she's had starring in the Martin Scorsese black comedy The Wolf of Wall Street, Australian actress Margot Robbie says that she wants to be cast in a Quentin Tarantino film next.

Amanda Seyfried Worried About Rrisky ‘Lovelace’ Role

Amanda Seyfriend on the set of 'Lovelace'Amanda Seyfried feared her latest acting role would ruin her Hollywood career.

The 27-year-old actress appears naked in her new movie, Lovelace, in which she plays a 1970's porn star, and despite calling the experience "liberating," the blonde star believes taking on the role was a huge risk. "This is the riskiest thing that's happening in Hollywood right now. The first thing you think about is that it could ruin my career," she said.

The L' actress previously claimed that despite her initial hesitations to appear naked on the big screen, it was much easier than she thought it would be:

"It's funny, because I felt liberated when I was doing it. I'm sure people that are very protective of me wouldn't feel very comfortable with that, but it's like, what's the big deal? Growing up I was made to feel nudity was wrong because everything was always censored in movies, and it was just like, why are we covering ourselves up? It didn't seem as scary as I thought it was [going to be]. It was astonishing how quickly I was able to jump in whole-heartedly."

Jessica Chastain Rules Out ‘Rodham’ Role

Jessica ChastainThe list of actresses rumored to be in the running to portray Senator Hillary Clinton in Rodham has just been shortened by one.

When answering questions at a press conference for the charity event Sound of Change in London last night, Jessica Chastain made it clear that she is not being considered for the role. "No, that's actually not true. I found out about the project online, but, yeah, there's a lot of stuff out there," she said.

Reese Witherspoon, Amanda Seyfried, and Scarlett Johansson are among the other actresses believed to be in the competition for the coveted role. The Spectacular Now director James Ponsoldt will helm the biopic and has already spoken generously about the actresses in the running: “They’re all wonderful actresses. We’re very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We’re in an enviable position.”

Rodham will focus on Clinton's early days in Arkansas during the Watergate scandal.

Amanda Seyfried Wants ‘Wicked’ Role

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Musicals, Casting, Celebrity Gossip,

Amanda SeyfriedAmanda Seyfried wants to star in a stage musical.

The Les Miserables actress would love to test her talents in Wicked on Broadway but thinks it would take a lot of work to get her ready for the stage: "To be honest with you, nobody would put me in that. I would have to take another two years of voice lessons before I could do that."

If she can't star in Wicked, Amanda would be happy with any musical that let her show off her soprano voice. "I'd like to do something where there's one character who has one big song - a soprano song - but I don't know what that would be. I gotta get on stage, man. I'd love it," she explained.

Recently Amanda was forced to show her support for Les Miserables co-star Anne Hathaway after it was reported Anne threw a fit when she discovered they had planned to wear similar dresses to the Oscars.

Amanda Seyfried’s Icy Sex Scene

Peter Sarsgaard and Amanda SeyfriedAmanda Seyfried used a popsicle when pretending to give Peter Sarsgaard oral sex.

The blonde actress had to film the raunchy scenes with the actor in movie Lovelace - a biopic of infamous porn actress Linda Lovelace - and in order to make the sexual acts look convincing, she decided to use the icy treat as a prop.

"We were doing a sex scene where I was supposed to be going down on Peter Sarsgaard. We used a popsicle, and I had my arms covering the popsicle. It was footage that he was going to show the Deep Throat guy, to get her into the movie, to get her cast. I was laughing hysterically throughout. I couldn't stop laughing."

Amanda also says she's become more realistic as her career goes on as she knows Hollywood is a tough place to work in. Speaking about her first big movie, Mean Girls, she told Vanity Fair, "Back then I thought every movie that was made found an audience and things were all stars and butterflies, before I developed a relationship with this world."
