Jennifer Aniston Going the Gwyneth Paltrow Route

We didn’t forget about Jennifer Aniston’s movie project The Goree Girls, though we’ve received no word on it for two years, and it turns out the actress hasn’t forgotten, either. Aniston is still planning on starring in the film that will depict her as a country-western singer. A similar role landed Gwyneth Paltrow tons of attention, so why not Aniston?
Few things about the project are certain (like whether or not Jen will sing in it), but we do know it revolves around the real-life 1940s singing group The Goree Girls, who came together while incarcerated in a Texas prison. We also know that Kelly Rowland is co-starring, so chances that somebody's going to sing are pretty good.

Anne Hathaway: Best Actress for Hollywood’s Dollar

It looks like Saturday Night Live was smart to book Anne Hathaway for her second visit. According to Forbes, the actress is worth her money and more.
Anne, who has starred in large grossers including Alice in Wonderland and Get Smart, is estimated to bring in $64 in profit for every buck spent on her. That’s the highest amount for any female based on the magazine’s set of factors.
Hathaway’s relatively small paycheck helped her score this achievement.
Curious Case of Benjamin Button star Cate Blanchett came in a distant second. The Oscar winner only returns $27 per dollar.
Tying for third are Jennifer Aniston and Meryl Streep. The romantic comedy staple and the Academy Awards fixture both pull in about $21 for each dollar.
Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker is the next ranked star with $17 per dollar.

Box Office Breakdown: Takers Takes the (Close) Win

Although early reports had The Last Exorcism in first place this weekend, the final numbers told a different story. When the dust finally settled on Monday, Lionsgate’s Takers had squeaked out a slim lead. (Less than $200,000 separated the two films.)
Exorcism, though, did not walk away a loser. The movie “documenting” a priest’s final exorcism earned just over $20 million—and it only cost $1.8 million to produce. The PG-13 flick also surpassed The Unborn‘s 2009 debut ($19.8 million), though it did fall short of The Exorcism of Emily Rose. (That 2005 release opened to $30 million.)

Box Office Breakdown: The Switch Fails to Light Up

Maybe a quick trip to Cougar Town is something Jennifer Aniston could use right now.
Days after blurting out the R-word on television, Aniston is dealing with another ding in her career: the box office disappointment. The Switch, co-starring Jason Bateman, produced only $8.4 million over the past three days while narrowly escaping eighth place. The good news? The movie raised slightly more than Jen’s Love Happens did back in September. The bad news? The comedy earned about $4 million less than Jennifer Lopez’s baby movie, The Back-Up Plan, did in April.

Cinema Scene: Little Miss Sunshine Heads to Stage, Field of Dreams Up for Sale

-Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have worked out their salary dispute with Summit Entertainment and will be starring in Breaking Dawn. Apparently they didn’t want to be the next Rachelle LeFevre.
-Jennifer Aniston reportedly asked that her daytime scenes in The Switch be retouched. She gets paid too much to look “rough” like the rest of us.
-I’m never going to be able to get “Super Freak” out of my head now. A musical version of Little Miss Sunshine will debut in February of next year.
-Will a big screen version of Wonder Woman ever get made? If so, TV’s Lynda Carter thinks Sandra Bullock “has in all her characters that needs to be in Wonder Woman.” Well, she’s definitely a fighter.
-If you love baseball, and have a cool $5.4 million lying around, the corn field featured in Field of Dreams could be yours. Neither Kevin Costner nor Ray Liotta is interested.
Box Office Breakdown: Kick-Ass Saves Its Ass

Kick-Ass had a hard time living up to its name this weekend.
Despite high expectations for the R-rated superhero entry, Matthew Vaughn’s film barely won the box office battle. In fact, it looked on Sunday like Lionsgate’s actioner would place second overall. Fortunately, the final numbers worked in Kick-Ass’ favor…but not by much. Less than $200,000 separated How to Train Your Dragon from this week’s chart topper.
Meanwhile, attendance at Death at a Funeral‘s services was good enough to get the comedy a fourth place debut. Neil LaBute’s remake of the 2007 British film recovered most of its budget - it cost approximately $21 million to make - with its $16.2 million gross.
