Kanye West was probably the second most-talked about person at the MTV Video Music Awards this year (second only to Lady Gaga, of course).

West was the closing performer of the night. He figured heavily in Chelsea Handler’s monologue and Taylor Swift’s performance. He even debuted his theatrical film trailer—though it was probably unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

Only research has confirmed that the odd collection of images was, indeed, a trailer for a future film (title: Runaway), a companion flick for his latest album. Kanye has been working on the project, and recently took a trip to Prague during production. He’s offered several Twitter updates about the project. In one, he likened the film to “a child’s delusions become reality!” And that’s just the message the trailer evokes.
