Those who have read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows already have a pretty good idea of what the movie will be like.
In a recent interview, the film’s main trio of stars (Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe) talked about some of the stunning visuals. Harry Potter himself spoke of the “huge pile of rubble” in the Hogwart’s courtyard and Voldemort “brutalizing and desperately trying to kill a 17-year-old boy.” Rupert Grint says the movie begins to turn “into a bit of a war film. The castle is on fire with rubble and bodies littered everywhere.”
But only Emma Watson revealed something truly juicy: a never-before-seen scene that was written especially for the screen. You can’t read this one in a book, folks. Find out what Hermione Granger revealed after the jump…

In the book, Hermione references erasing her parents’ memories and leaving home for the last time. In the film, we’ll actually get to see it.
Emma Watson said that Hermione is “choosing between family and friends” in the film and that it’s “pretty brutal.” Of the scene, she says her parents “offer her a cup of tea, completely unaware that anything’s about to happen.” Then, Hermione casts a spell that “wipes their memory.” She says, “there’s photos all around the room, actual childhood pictures of me, and they just dissolve. It’s horrible. And then I have to shut the door and walk out alone.”
Just your basic coming-of-age tale…with wands, dark wizards and witchcraft.
