Casting Corner: Hugh Laurie, Stephen Colbert and More

Hugh Laurie

Hugh Laurie: Has the Robocop reboot finally found its villain? The House star is in talks to portray "an ultra-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes Robocop" in the film, set to be directed by Jose Padilha. Laurie will act opposite Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gary Oldman.

Stephen Colbert: Speaking of villains, Stephen Colbert has signed up to voice the antagonist of the 3D animated film Mr. Peabody and Sherman, which will be an updated full-length version of a Rocky and Bullwinkle short. Ty Burnell and Max Charles will voice the epynonymous protagonists: the world's smartest person dog and the little boy with whom he travels.

Scarlett Johansson and Kristen Stewart: If author Bret Easton Ellis gets his way and gets to write the script for the novel Fifty Shades of Grey, he's aiming to cast Scarlett Johansson or Kristen Stewart as the female lead of Anastasia Steele. He has also expressed on Twitter that he would like to see Alexander Skarsgard or Ryan Gosling cast as the lead of Christian Grey.

Justin Bartha: The Hangover star has been added to the CBGB cast. Bartha will play the lead singer of the Dead Boys, Stiv Bators, opposite Alan Rickman, Rupert Grint, Ashley Greene, and Taylor Hawkins.

Zachary Levi: Josh Dallas - who portrayed Fandral in Thor - recently announced that he would not reprise his role in the upcoming Alan Taylor-helmed sequel. The Chuck actor will instead be taking over the reigns as one of the Warriors Three in Thor 2.
