Latest Gear Live Videos

I have just started putting the Mind Camp attendee list into the left-hand column. As of this moment, we have 173 people registered and only 27 tickets left! Go ahead and let someone know about Mind Camp so we can fill this thing up. If you have already registered, but don’t see your name on the attendee list, I just haven’t gotten to you yet. I hope to have the list caught up by tomorrow afternoon.

Ode to the link

Ah, the hyperlink.  Such a simple concept, yet so powerful.  The mighty link conveys authority, and It weaves together thought.  It can connect people, ideas, and concepts.  It might have the character of a nod between strangers on a busy sidewalk, of a sidelong glance, or of a longing gaze.

Have I been spending too much time indoors?

Well, that’s as may be.  There’s just been so much too see online.  We’ve had more Mind Camp mentions from Strangle (what a handle), Ken (again), Andru (our fearless leader), Al (you’re no nerd), Zhonka Broadband (bringing a posse), and Emma Rose (we’re psyched to see you, too!).  Ario‘s been showing us the love and reminding us of the basics (you don’t need to sleep over—good point, Ario).

Oy, what a weekend.  Next year we’re hiring an accountant.  Life is just so much better when people who know what they’re doing help you do what you need to do.  Don’t you think?

Speaking of helping people, If you’ve been to Mind Camp before and you’ve already signed up for SMC2, why not consider volunteering this time around to be a Camp Counselor?  (Didja notice the segue?  Smooth, huh?)

We need some folks to help with the various logistical tasks that crop up on the day of the camp, and to help answer questions and serve as additional points of contact for your fellow attendees.  By volunteering just a bit of your time over the course of the weekend, you’ll be helping to make sure things run smoothly for everyone.  And, hey… chicks dig authority figures.

Now, I can’t promise that you’ll get anything out of this other than the satisfaction of starting a Seattle Mind Camp tradition, but if that’s enough for you, then .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and let me know you’re interested. (And if you know any good accountants, let me know that, too, wouldja? Oy!)

Connections

Posted by Stuart Maxwell Categories: Upcoming,

In reading over the feedback from SMC1, some of the things that jump out at me as areas of improvement for the organizers have to do with communication:  Letting people know what to expect ahead of time, promoting the available resources, and so on.

This is the age of social web software, and we’re bleeding-edge geeks, so help me out, here:  What tools could we be using to better communicate and coordinate?  Here’s what we’re using so far:
