Working Class Heroes, the brand known for their minimalist felt gadget pouches, has returned with a new name and a brand new collection. Now known as Hard Graft, the new Dapper collection has been unveiled and three new designs have been added to the Hard Graft repertoire. Still constructed of high quality wool felt and leather, the Dapper collection features pockets reminiscent of those found on jeans, just big enough for an iPod or iPhone. And the collection now features three new pouch styles, two created specifically for the Kindle and the iPhone and a new Laptop Wallet featuring snaps along the open end.  Prices for the entire collection range from 19 to 89 Euros and Hard Graft’s online store is open for business.

The long-awaited Fable II, which we got a look at during the Microsoft E3 Media Briefing, has finally been dated. You can expect to pick up your copy on October 21, 2008. The image you see above features the Fable II Collector’s Edition, which will retail for $79.99, while the standard version prices out at $59.99. Working under a grant from the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy, scientists Yonggang Huang and John Rogers have made an eye-shaped camera that they say could improve digital cameras and enhance imaging. They designed a mesh-like material with tiny squares connected by wires. This prevents breakage that would occur with simple bending. The pair are hoping that someday their eye cam can be used as an artificial retina or bionic eye.

When you get tired of peddling, the bicycle offers a 20 mph speed for up to 20 miles and can be upgraded with a second battery, basket, and/or rear carrier. The good news is that no license is required. The bad news is that it will set you back $2,500.00. Look for a September debut and remind yourself there will be no more high gas prices to pay, just a larger electric bill.

There’s good news for travelers. The Transportation Security Administration will soon allow those with laptops to leave them inside their “checkpoint friendly” cases. In order to qualify, the cover must have a designated laptop-only section that would lie flat when it rolls through the X-ray machine. It cannot have metal zippers, snaps, buckles, or inner pockets. The new rule will take effect Aug. 16. Already approved are bags from Mobile Edge, Tagus, and the Skooba Design Checkthrough that will become available in the next few weeks.

These are the first cloned pets (if you don’t count Dolly and a couple of cows.) A research team from Seoul National University created them from “Booger” who died in 2006. Using somatic cell nuclear transfer from the dog’s ear, the genetic material was injected into eggs, then to the uteri of two dogs. While one of the puppies came by a C section, the other four were delivered naturally. The pups came into the world in Seoul, Korea last Monday.

In an agreement with the International Olympic Committee, YouTube will be streaming 3 hours of recorded Olympic coverage per day. Countries like the U.S. and UK will be blocked since they will be receiving it on BBC and NBC. About 77 territories will have access to highlight reels and wrap-ups, but they will not be showing live events. Director of television and marketing for the IOC Timo Lumme claims that “for the first time in Olympic history we will have complete global online coverage.”
