Creative Xmod Restores Music to Surround Sound
Creative claims that its new Xmod crystallizer restores the “vitality and impact” that was originally lost in your MP3 recordings, CDs, and digital movie soundtracks. Plug it into your iPod or other audio player and you have a virtual surround sound 9 speaker effect without software. Using X-Fi 24-bit technology, it features USB connectability for PCs, Macs, or notebooks, and has a standard jack plug to fit your headset or headphones. The Xmod will be available by the end of October at an MSRP of $79.99. That’s almost as good as having a front row seat to the next Stones concert without all the screaming.

hehe, I’ve heard the sound coming from such systems… sweet, but nothing like “vitality and impact”... not even surprising
