sales figures point to DS

PSP is nice and pretty, but doesnt do anything special
DS on the other hand is unique with lots of unique games (not mere ports) - not to mention a ton cheaper

Yes both of equal opportunity cost, but if you have the extra cash I’d shoot for the PSP being a long-time PlayStation fan. Also, you can mod the crap out of PSPs, you can even install Windows on them.

First of all, Crash Bandicoot sucks, and second of all, he wants something portable. I don’t think he’s going to spend (though you could) 90 bux for an LCD screen to glue to his ps2. Though I guess no suggestion is a bad one. LOL.

LOL, I’ve played two Crash Bandicoot games and didn’t care for either. I know a lot of people that do like it though, but it just isn’t my type of game.

Anyway, now we’re really getting off-topic so enough of that lol.

What do you guys think of the new DS redesign, the DS lite?

Also, is it possible the PSP may go down in price soon, or do you think the PSP will have a redesign anytime soon?

I’ve got both the DS and the PSP and it all depends on what you plan on using it for. To me the DS is unvcomfortable in my hands for long periods of times, you can only play games with the DS, but they have some fun titles for it. The PSP is nice and looks good, you can use it to watch movies on it, mp3 player etc. If you’re on a strictly gaming basis, maybe the DS. Test them out at stores or friends and see which you like best.

I am an avid Nintendo fan, so I would obviously suggest the DS.  The games for DS are far beyond anything the PSP can possibly offer.  They have classic titles, and they have cool new stuff using the stylus and dual screens.  Two-player stuff, RPGs, maps, item menus, point-n-click…. the possibilities are endless, and Nintendo’s getting really creative.
PSP is good for things besides gaming.  It has awesome sound and graphics for music and movies, but the games are mediocre at best.  The web browser sucks.

Unless you plan on spending lots of time modding your PSP, go for the DS.

I have both, and I like the PSP better.  The good news is, they are both going VOIP sometime in the future.  If you are using it for gaming, I find the DS 2nd screen (Touch Screen) to be a little difficult to watch.  Keeping focused on one or the other is easy, but both at one times sucks.  I dont like the stylus, it is too small and feels as though you are writing with a toothpick.  For my it is hands down the PSP.  The only thing bad about the PSP, it is an expensive handheld to own.  With the price of movies, games, accessories…you can spend a couple grand in no time.  I have had it about 6 mos and already put at least $700 into it, including the cost of the system.

That’s asking a question that is bound to have “interesting” answers….

DS have some nice games as well as PSP…I couldn’t pick a favorite, although I do play the DS more.

I have both, but I really favor the DS. I’ve had problems with loading times on the PSP. Also, the PSP feels far more fragile than the DS, and that affects my ability to enjoy it. I love the stylus with the DS. I have yet to play a game on it that I don’t thoroughly enjoy. Now there are some games coming out soon on the PSP that I’m very excited about. I’m glad I have them both. Honestly, if you’re really having a hard time making a decision, just see which one is going to have the most games you want to play. That’s what matters the most to me, at least.

Nintendo DS sucks.  Sony PSP rules.

It’s all about what you want, do you want to have fun and play some games that actually keep you intrested get the DS

If you want something a little better tech wise, easier to mod, you can add roms/emulators to it and play even more games.

As much as I hate doing this, I would call it a tie, depending on what your needs/wants are…

Personally, I hate small screens, so I really could never get into a PSP or DS…

Yeah the PSP is really good and I actually have one but it doesn’t have many good games for it which is the reason I bought it.

I have the regular DS and love it…so does my wife.  New Super Mario Bros. is a blast from the past.

PSP is better, and for some reason I like the PSP games more than the DS games.
