  • Holy hell! I assumed they got some people with that crap but never would have guessed millions of dollors worth. No wonder there are so many of them now.

    Although I am glad to hear one get caught and hopefully they use her as an example and scare others straight (though that will be hard with $242 million paydays) I have always laughed my ass off at the scam baiters that really get these guys jumping through hoops for months at a time. Most of it is very funny and makes you feel better for every time you have been scammed or ripped off.

    One of my favs that most people have heard about already was ppppowerbook one, not a nigerian email one, but still damn funny. I think the pictures and imagining the guys face when he opened it is what made me laugh the most. You can find summaries of it all over but if you search well enough you can find the original thread on the site where they pulled it off…here is a summary though: http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/

    There are also tons of very funny scam baits on this site: http://www.419eater.com (a bunch on the homepage and even more current ones in the forums).

  • But is the diplomat and his family still ok?  Please tell me they are.  I paid them $40 to get freedom…

    //not really

    Serves the spammer right.  I think all spammers should go to jail…that or be poked repeatedly in the eye w/ a thumbtack.
