i had that happen to me when i first got my ipod… annoying yes… but i think there’s an option to avoid that…
i recently reimaged my computer and didnt lose any of my songs when i reinstalled itunes
back on subject… i like itunes just because of the smart playlists… if there was another program out there that could handle them i’d prolly switch
i know others will probably say ephPod and the winamp ipod plugin
i’ve tried them both, one messed with the dates of the songs on my ipod(some of my smart playlists are based on dates, last played, date added, etc) and messed stuff up
they both couldnt handle smart playlists
