Why hasn’t anyone figured this out yet?  Wouldn’t you love to have the lyrics to a song scroll along the screen of your player, so that you can better make out those words?  I always end up Googling for lyrics.  :x

I suppose that people might try renaming the file to one long lyric line, as a work-around?  Is there anything out there?

I know it takes a lot of work but my iRiver iHP-120 has this ability built in!

I’m pretty sure that this already exists. The lyrics ride the mp3 file as part of the header in the ID3 tags. Not all mp3 players support that tag, but there are those that do. Not sure if winamp supports this…

Do they have a separate ID3 field for the lyric information?  You’re right I’ve never seen this in Winamp, and even in Rio’s Music Manager, there’s no such field.  Argh!!  How do you get around to this?

Can you tell us a little bit about how it works?  Or are you adding that to your review.  😉

It sounds like you need to copy and paste it into some field, am I right?  What about the pace in which the lyrics scroll on screen?  It couldn’t possibly know when to scroll which word in time to the song, unless of course, most of the lyrics fit on one screen anyways, and you just scroll along manually if you need to??

That does look time consuming.

I’m talking about this thing being done automatically for any purchased music, and not having to input time breaks and lyrics yourself.  :o   That’s what’s long overdue.

I think it would be time consuming for a record label to also have someone to do this too.

I havent done it yet because it is time consuming but it is nice to know its there if i do want to do it.

Maybe they could outsource the job?  I mean, my Music Manager automatically connects to the internet to retrieve song names for each track, along with artist and album.  There should be something similar.  Man, I should start a company for this.
