That was wonderfully written. I agree with you on many points, especially how it bought everyone together. I was amazed in how in a world where we all strive to be incredible individuals, we were all brought together as a community, even as total strangers. That George Carlin line was pretty much on the spot.

I still remember what I was doing on that day, even though five years have passed. I woke up at 5:50am, then went to eat my breakfast while turning on the TV to watch the local morning news.  Right as I flipped on the TV, I saw the first tower get hit by a plane. This was insanity. I was wondering what was going on, as was the media. I went over to my brother to wake him up, since I was usually the first to wake up in the family. We were both glued to the TV, and witnessed the 2nd plane hit live. I saw that, looked at the time and realized that I had to head to class with such a horrible image and all the confusion in my head. It was a very dark day for me, even though I was all the way across the country from where it happened. I don’t think I could ever forget that day.
