Search engine optimization (SEO) is a set of methods aimed at improving the ranking of a website in search engine listings, and could be considered a subset of search engine marketing. The term SEO also refers to “search engine optimizers,” an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients’ sites.
Search engines display different kinds of listings in the search engine results pages (SERPs), including: pay per click advertisements, paid inclusion listings, and organic search results. SEO is primarily concerned with advancing the goals of a website by improving the number and position of its organic search results for a wide variety of relevant keywords.
SEO strategies may increase both the number and quality of visitors. Search engine optimization is sometimes offered as a stand-alone service, or as a part of a larger marketing effort, and can often be very effective when incorporated into the initial development and design of a site.
Of course, Seo is a part and parcel of the total marketing strategy of a company. It involves improving the ranking of your site in Google search engine. This is also called online marketing.
What is SEO? It is an abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization. What exactly does SEO do? It is the method of analyzing and constructing individual web pages, as well as entire sites, so that they can be discovered, analyzed, and then indexed by various search engines.
SEO can make the content of your web pages more relevant, more attractive, and more easily read by search engines and their crawling and indexing software.

Yes, this is all very true but like anything you must be very careful when choosing a service provider. I would suggest avoiding any company that offers SEO packages. While you may get lucky buying one of these packages it is generally a crap shoot. SEO success is based on what your competition is doing or not doing and doing it better. This requires a comprehensive analysis of your competition. If your provider does not offer this then keep hunting until you find one that does.
My company offers such a service and that is why we have never failed to get a client onto the first page of Google for multiple keyword phrases.
This is why we tell our customers that if they want to do PPC, they need to do SEO first. They need to make sure that the relevence of the page receiving the traffic is highly relevent to the ad itself, and to the term searched. Doing both SEO and PPC is a great way to get lots of new customers, but what’s most important is your return on investment (ROI). It’s important to make sure that for every dollar spent on advertising, you get more than a dollar back in new business. That’s ultimately why we focus on SEO because the ROI for our customers is so much higher.
I have had a website for 5 years that was only used by my patients. It was nowhere to be found in the search results until I discovered SEO. Now I rank # 1 for multiple keyword phrases.
Search Engine Optimization makes your site easier to find and locate on the internet. It improves your ranking, increasing traffic and chances of making sales. By expanding your market online you are exposing your products and services to more motivated and interested customers.

I don’t think anyone can debate the importance of SEO for today’s on-line business, however this is much room to debate the most effective/ethical ways to go about providing seo for your company or client
Not sure it is important or not…I think SEO is really good for those who wants to increase trading on Internet. I mean is useless for informative and education sites.
SEO is by far the best method to promote the keywords of your website and to make the likelihood of its getting the site on the top of the SERPs. Some business which do not venture on this are buried into depths of SE and I guess there is no better time for them to think than now.
Of course SEO is important. Unless you have a ridiculous amount of money to throw at PTC advertising and banner ads on top sites I don’t see any other way of generating significant amounts of traffic.
