how should i cut my .mpeg format video?

i have a home video,but part of it seems not so good,i want to cut about 5minutes.how should i do?please tell me the deatail.

If you’re using XP, Vista or Win 7, use Windows Movie Maker, it’s free and is integrated with XP & Vista.

If you have Win 7, you’ll have to download it from Microsoft’s site and install it as it doesn’t come as part of Win 7 standard.

If you’re using a Linux Distro, there is also free software available.

For Apple Macs - I have not a clue
