Haha, I have to say two things about the two controvery’s.
One the Racial Issues (Robert Downey).
First off, anyone who has a problem with Robert Downey playing an African American has got to be crazy. In no way did Downey do anything racial or unjust while playing his character. In face i thought he portrayed his character amazingly. Downey is a class act actor and deserves props for his role in this movie. He was outstanding.
2nd Issue regarding Retard.
I didn’t think the word was used in any wrong terms. Its a comedy, you here the word in family guy and its hillarious. Just becuase people hear it in a movie it makes it a big deal. It wasn’t used to target someone mentally challenged and call them retard. It was used to refer to characters such as Forest Gump. Perfect example of another movie that did this but nothing was brought up. 21, when the guy refers to the main character as the guy from that tom cruise movie and says no you dont look like tom cruise, you look like that retard. Same deal.
People these days dig too deep to make a deal out of nothing.
But props to them because now Tropic Thunder will be all over the news and everyone will watch it and you can bet the cast and crew are happy about that because itll just rake in the big bucks.
