The Firefox community is the proud new owner of a Guinness World Record — each and every one of you!  Mozilla today received confirmation from Guinness World Records that we’ve officially achieved the record for the “largest number of software downloads in 24 hours.”  From 18:16 UTC on June 17, 2008 to 18:16 UTC on June 18, 2008, 8,002,530 people downloaded Firefox 3!

This is another wonderful accomplishment in a long line of them for our community!  Ever since Firefox was launched in 2004 we’ve relied on our community to help us spread the word, and thanks to projects including crop circles, newspaper ads, giant stickers, videos, blogs and more we now have over 180 million users in more than 230 countries.  Incredible work!

Wow, it’s amazing how many people downloaded Firefox 3.  I’m glad to be a part of this.  You can also download your own certificate at http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/certificate_form .  I’ve printed mine out! smile

It is amazing how many people actually participated in helping Firefox set the world record for most software downloads in a 24 hour period. It was fun to be apart of it. I’ve already downloaded my certificate but haven’t printed it out yet.

Already downloaded my certificate also,
But i think firefox doesn’t deserve this for its new version because there are lots and lots of bugs.

I downloaded it on dl day, but never tried it, until today. I don’t see any problem with it so far, other than I wish the extensions and the themes would hurry up and update to FF3.

That is so amazing and I am loving Firefox 3! smile I am so happy I switched from IE to Firefox because well, I love Firefox so much now! Firefox 3 does start-up a little slow for me and I have found that it does that to a lot of people too, but other than that, great, great, great.

Great!
It’s even more amazing when you know that all the FTP-downloads didn’t count for the record.
