Got a nice surprise today when I came home from work
I unboxed it and took photos which I will post tomorrow. However, I am having some software difficulties with it (keep getting BSOD even after I restore it to factory settings) so any further review and screenshots will have to be put on hold until I can get those issues resolved. Stay tuned!

O really the BSOD. I can fix it. Just ship it my way haha.
But congrats once agan!
I remember when I first got my hp computer I called them and all they did was want to trouble shoot. I kept telling them that the hard drive was bad it kept freezing and none of their troubleshooting was working. It took it to completely crash and not being able to boot or nothing for hp to finally send someone out to replace and put a new hard drive in it, I am just glad I had the extra warranty and insurance on it.
Yay! I can’t wait to see the pictures and I hope you’ll be able to use everything that came along with it. You totally deserved the prize package and once again, congrats. It better last you a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time.
UPDATE: I have opened a case number with HP and so they are sending me a box tomorrow with a prepaid label. After that it will take 5-7 business days to repair. HP Support was really painless for me and it sounds like a quick turnaround.
Wow that’s really weird buckeye, I would think that it would be the opposite because they have to pay for the shipping for a mail-in but for the repair center they dont. Really awkward….
Ok here are my first batch of pictures. Don’t mock my photography skills HP Dragon - Unboxing
I will take better pictures of the Dragon itself when I get the machine back from HP! Note there is one photo of the laptop configuring Vista, but this is mere seconds before the first BSOD.
EDIT: Link fixed, was not recognizing the space in the URL
Congrats on receiving the Notebook! Hopefully HP gets this resolved for you soon. I think they should have included the Windows Vista CD along with your Notebook because then you could easily reinstall the Windows Vista OS or repair it through the CD. You should ask support to send you a CD too in case this happens again in the future. Or if they don’t send you one I recommend you to make a recovery CD as soon as you receive it back.
Wow, I can’t believe I forgot to ask you this! What were your family’s thoughts when it arrived? Did you tell them that you won something before it arrived or did you surprise them when it finally came?
Its always good to make a recovery cd, one of the first things that you should do when getting a new computer. And you can only do it one time, so keep track of the discs you make and dont let them get scratched up. And then dotn forget to go to windows update and make sure there are no updates that need to be downloaded, then have fun, or install whatever else you want on there, of course dont forget your anti-virus.

I told them fairly soon after I had won it and they were shocked haha. Needless to say I was very excited and had to tell someone When it arrived, their first comments were that it was “huge” but still not ridiculously heavy, but they have not seen it turned on yet.
UPDATE: Box never came after four business days, called them and found out that they had never placed it in the system, so I have called them and they have me in the system now (I hope) and are sending me a box in two business days…
EDIT: Talked to them on the phone and my computer is so new that its not even in their system yet, so in 24-48 hrs it will be in the system and they will call me with a tracking number.
Haha, wow, thanks for the update BuckeyeFanatic25! What are your plans for the Dragon? Are you planning to make it your “main” computer, share it with your family as a home computer, ditch your own computer…
Hopefully it works when you get it back. I know you were probably upset having the BSOD, you were probably ready to play around on it. But you can do that when you get it back. I cant believe its so new that its not in their system, thats weird. At least the box is coming now, good luck to you.
