Well i was looking around a couple yard sales when i found one guy selling ram 1 gig for a DOLLAR. so i bought all of them (there was 3)  and quickly went back to my p.c. . when i got home i installed the ram. i hooked everything back up and turned on my p.c. it was working great 2 gig of ram in a p.c. form 2002 .... then i noticed a burning smell it was my ram cards. sh** they were melting ! AHHH AHHH AHH!!!! I quickly unplugged it put in the old ram and it still worked. DAM i was lucky! my pc works like normal now but isn’t on fire =)

Theres a lesson in this :

ClintWestwood, you only ended up paying three dollars for 3 gigs of RAM so it’s not a bad deal that you got for it.  Just because you had a bad experience with a garage sale it does not mean that other people will end up having a bad experience too.  Maybe you didn’t insert the RAM properly the first time or the RAMs were not compatible with your PC.  If the RAM looked fine before and burned up later, you may have been the one who damaged the RAM.
