Well, it is my own opinion, but I prefer rock over rap. The reason is that rock has so many different elements, such as all the instruments and well, I love listening to rock at times. It’s just sometimes so passionate and emotional that it truly makes the song so great and fantastic. I feel with rap, it’s all a lot of words, doesn’t really have much music or instruments with it and well, it sometimes gives me a headache. However, this is only my opinion, so I hope people don’t start yelling at me or something, haha.
The lyrics of rap songs tend more to tell a story and in my opinion are a lot deeper than rock. However, I find rap very boring to listen to because the pitches are basically all the same. Some rap is alright, but listening to too much rap is just enjoyable. I also play the drum set and so that is a critical part of a rock band—basically all of the music I play is either rock or jazz (I find jazz is actually harder than rock to play)
Wehn you are comparing both of them, i fell rock is the better, because it is only the better and pleasant when compared to rap music, and ireally dont find rap songs much pleasant to hear, my most favorite is melody and thenm followed by rock.
i like rap the best. i listen to some rock though and dance music. I like rihanna’s dont stop the music. My favorite rappers are 50 Cent, 36 mafia, and anything gangsta rap. I dont really like country to much, to many sad songs although some are good but not to listen to all the time.
I dont really know too much about the elements and lyrical and like the foundations of the types of music, so I’m just going to give my opinion which is actually that I like them post equally as much. I’m not sure why bu for me, I just like everykind of main types of music equally as much. It’s just how I am.
Most people don’t even know real hip-hop/rap, they listen to 50 Cent or The Game, or one of the radio idiots. Real hip-hop/rap is Talib Kweli, Rahim, Consequence, Binary Star, Jurassic 5, Asheru & Blue Black, Nas, Hieroglyphics, AZ, etc.
Who really cares which one is better? They are two very different styles and genres of music. Comparing them is like trying to compare an apple to a 2x4. Just listen to music and you’ll be fine. Go into anything with an open mind and will probably enjoy it. That being said, Long Live Rock n’ Roll.
I LOVE rock and both my sister and I agree Rock ROCKS rap has no message and you can’t relate to a bunch of swear words so yeah rock is loud AND proud cuz you can relate and express yourself through it and it doesn’t divide people it brings them together so yeah
i prefer rap over rock they both have their own skills. people say its not hard to rap well if thats true then they must be millionaires that have gone platinum. and you cant say the only reason i cant is cause im white when eminem and vanilla ice made it big because of there rap skills
