I’m tired of getting those “multimedia messages” through AT&T;. When I had nextel, I would get the pictures embedded/attached into the text messages as opposed to having to go to some website and having to type in a password/message ID. Another part of the problem is that you cannot save the pictures, and they expire after 7days. With any other provider this is possible, and is most likely commonplace with the “normal” AT&T;phones & the blackberries.
OKAY its @!#$in tuesday and to my knowledge 1.1.3 still isnt here so ive now jailbroken my ipod touch it is by far one of the eaiest things in the world ill put a link below to follow and then another link for those of us on 1.1.2 dont worry i was scepticle about doing this but its 99.9% safe nothing will happen
The ONLY credible prediction of a release is at next week’s Mac World - even then it is not a certainty. There are more things involved than just an update to the iPhone and maybe iPod.
They both would probably require a new version of iTunes - considering the possibility of an announcement of DVD movie availability via iTunes.
I have noticed two things in the video and was looking for some confirmation from Andru and Natetrue. First, I think Apple has changed the Safari top bar by moving the plus button to the bottom line and adding. Search magnify glass in the top left part of the window. If you look during Andru’s demo video he presses it and the cursor automatically goes to the google search bar. This will help easier use of safari. Can this be confirmed? Also when you go horizontal in safari does the top bar go away for the cancel button? This would make the space in between the URL bar and keyboard. Is anything different in the weather and stock apps? Thanks guys I look forward to the next batch of questions.
so if this update is not what u say it is like many people have claimed(not me, i believe it) then are u going to tell us and apologise because there are going to be a lot of angry veiwers
sorry, i believe in this update too and think that it will be great. just curious if more will be added than what the video shows.
ya i think that copy/paist will probibly come but not flash. Although flash is the number one requested freature it will take up a ton of memory on the phone which means less songs/videos. I predict the upgrade will not come till next month because of sdk. Unfortunatly they are not going to release a incomplete upgrade
i do wonder how they got this upgrade already and why the cellular provider name is “nate” kinda suspicious hope they clear this up for me
Just wondering if there was any testing done on sending mail from the iPhone using a Yahoo account. I know many people have been affected by the “send mail” bug, including myself. While I know I can fix it by removing my Yahoo account and adding it back to my iPhone, that really is not a great solution. As such, I really don’t send too many emails from my phone unless I really have to. If you guys have any relevant feedback, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Am I correct in assuming from an earlier answer that even with this upgrade we still cannot type email or text with the bigger lansdscape style keyboard?!
Also, I wonder if you were able to add a “contacts” icon to the home screen, like the one on the iPod Touch home screen?
hey does anyone know if the update will include being able to have 3rd party applications? i want to hack my iphone but i am too afriad i am going to screw my iphone up
1.1.3 will come out once 1.1.2 is fully jailbroken - it will only contain small features that nobody really wants. The only reason we have 1.1.1, 1.1.2, and iTunes is because Apple had to release them to stop the hacking.
Flash - when we get it, if ever, won’t be soon. Flash would take an enormous hunk of memory on the thing, as well as a major software update, which 1.1.3, if there is one, will not be.
As for additional widgets/apps, Apple is releasing an SKD (Software Development Kit) in February. This will allow you to download third-party apps from Apple, with Apple’s permission.
believe it or now(i dont believe this is right) he does have some good points
In response to the above post, 1.1.1 came out to release the Wi-Fi store… but I do agree that 1.1.2 came out because of the jailbreaking, mostly because it didn’t include anything that noticeable….which is why I think 1.1.3 is going to turn into some sort of 1.2.1 on Jan. 15 with more than what was leaked. I could be wrong though.

1.1.2 came out to allow multi-languages and localization, for the release of the iPhone into Europe.
1.1.3 will probably have extra software for more features from iTunes, including being able to download the 3rd party apps that will come along after the SDK is released.
Apple is just protecting the millions of iPhone users from having problems as they upgrade - the fact that it makes it harder for the tens of thousands that want to unlock their iPhones doesn’t mean very much at all to Apple - If the Dev Teams can ‘hack’ we win - if not we lose
