Good to know Andy will be around more! I would say it’s definitely worth it, if you only get the game and not the controller. I just use my old X-plorer and haven’t found any drawbacks to doing so. If you don’t care about playing multiplayer in person (or already have 2 X-plorers), I’d say do it, Andy.
Not me. Its a money thing that almost make my ballz shrink at the thought of not getting some of the most anticipated games that are just coming out. It looks like a tun of fun, but its expensive for me at the moment. :(
As far as I can tell they’ve changed the hammer-ons and pull-offs. Instead of just being able to get a bunch of notes in a row if your timing was right there are now glowing notes. Those glowing notes you can hit without (I think, I haven’t tested this yet) having to strum. I’ve gotten 95% of some pretty crazy solos I wouldn’t have been able to before because of the change. Still, I can’t complain, I’m enjoying the heck out of it.
It’s always been that way, the HO/PO’s notes are just more visible now. Before they were just lacking the black ring around the top, now they glow a little bit so they are easier to see.
I hated that frets on fire.Hammers ons and pull ons did not work great. And when a few notes came on screen it was hard to tell if they where single ones or if they where chords.
lfaiwgoiajw;blksawmne;rgiaj234tr!!!!!!!!!! Fukc “Raining Blood” on Expert!
Remove ““Raining Blood”” from that sentence and you’ve got how I feel at the moment. I can’t beat Lou. I’ve lost so much it’s getting annoying. I mean, I can accept failing at bonus tracks, but something that you need to beat to beat the game bugs me. I also refuse to go down a difficulty level.

Wait, so you beat the last set on Expert? Tell me your secret!

As much as I love me some Guitar Hero, I’m gonna recommend saving your money and waiting for Rock Band. After playing RB, I feel it is the better game.
Even with the lackluster tracklist, compared to GH3?
Yes, but I really don’t think the track list is that lackluster in RB. It shares many of the same songs, and the others are for the most part good songs.
The guitar parts are easier than GH3, but the note window is smaller, so the difficulty isn’t in bending your fingers into a note position that doesn’t make sense for the song. It’s in your accuracy. It’s more like Guitar Hero 1. I think the drums and vocals are what is going to set the game apart, though. I was ambivalent about yet another rhythm game. I still pre-ordered it, just in case, but I just wasn’t sure how it was going to fare against the Guitar Hero juggernaut. After playing it, I’m declaring it more than a match for Guitar Hero.
But since we are in a Guitar Hero thread, anybody else create a custom faceplate for their Les Paul yet? I just finished mine.
