Whether it’s paid-to-post or sites that require you to complete offers, those who spend a great deal of time making money on the Internet can tell you the best way to make real money is getting referrals.
Most sites will pay you a percentage of what your referrals make and, if you get enough of a “down-line,” you could make some decent money.
The hard part about that is finding people to sign up as your referrals. And, if you’re like me and most of your friends either don’t spend any time on the Internet or already are members of the same sites you are, it’s nearly impossible.
That’s why I was intrigued by GetRef.com.
Unlike the other sites out there that have you sign up to earn money, GetRef.com takes a different approach. You earn credits that can be used to gain referrals for your paying sites. I only glanced at the list of eligible sites but there are quite a few on there, including Mylot.com, Yuwie.com, and the obvious AdBux and Bux.to.
When I first looked at the site, I didn’t know exactly how it worked. But, after researching it, I realized you earn the most credits by signing up with paying Web sites (referral links by other members). So, when you post your referral link, someone else will be given points for joining under you. You also gain partial credits just for visiting the links; even if you don’t join. However, you have to join at least one before the site will post your links.
Through and through, this is a pretty unique idea and a good one; that’s why I’m writing about it. If you do join, you can expect plenty of referrals, but it might take a day or two. Trust me, though, its worth it. GetRef.com uses a ladder system and you need to climb that ladder for your credits to be worth more to other users. You can do that the hard way by earning credits or, you can do it the easy way and pay money to become a Gold member. The good news is, the Administrator of GetRef is a nice guy and works really hard, and is constantly setting up opportunities for members to receive premium accounts (contests, raffles, etc). The starting price for Gold membership is $4.99 for one month. Gold membership includes the following:
You can earn .05 for every program you join
$.02 for every program your referrals join.
You now earn twice as many credits for joining programs
You also get a discount on credits that you purchase.
You can ban people from joining your programs.
Increased number of programs you can have available for referrals.
If you do the work, the site does give you results. I’ve talked to a couple of people who use it to attract members to their Yuwie.com accounts and have gained 20-30 referrals from it (plus anyone those people bring in as referrals). Both of them paid for the Gold membership.
What you put into the site is what you get out of it.
