The Gamespot review mentions the “Inevitable flood of prepubescent online players sure to hamper your enjoyment of the online modes.” as a con. Pretty darn stupid, its really not the fault of the game, these idiots show up everywhere.
You can mute all players in the Guide in every game on Xbox 360.
However, yes, Halo 3 features a shortcut in the game to mute players. Hold Back (to get to the scoreboard), highlight with the right stick, and then press… something, I can’t remember. Damnit.
So,
I’ve been playing since Saturday. Done a little bit of coop with just me and a friend, and it lags like a bitch. The scary part is that it isn’t regular lag, its framerate and response lag. Like, I press the jump button and it takes 1/2 a second to respond. The framerate lag is just goddamn bizzare (sp?), the game literally chugs.... Goddamn I hope this is just day 1 jitters in the code or our epic 4 man legendary run may be doomed before it starts
Dunno how to say this, but ya’ll know how big a goddamn halo fanboy I am - The game is honestly more than a little disappointing. Feels like an upgrade, but nothing to write home about :( Forge isn’t very fun and I suspect will be used by a small group of guys who are way into that kind of thing and largely ignored by the rest of us.
Yeah
We’re gonna do a full review this weekend, who knows - Maybe playing with more people will change my mind
Im hearing diffrent stories from everyone.Had some people say it doesnt lagg at all and then I have also heard it laggs also.Where you playing on a desent connection just curious.
I’m with Bert here, everyone I know that have the game (yeah it got “accidentaly” released in norway a couple of weeks ago) that I have mentioned what Andy said about the coop, had no clue whatthe heck he was going on about. Doesn’t seem to affect very many of the people that already have the game atleast.
Hope i’m wrong. I’m on a 6mb down 1.5 up DSL less than 2 blocks from the central office, so my ping is always damned solid. Was playing with a buddy in Jersey whose on an 8mb down 1.5 up cable connection, he was hosting (even though I started the game, the game determined he had the better connection)
Like I said, it wasn’t normal lag - it was this wierd framerate/response lag - I tried it on two different xbox360s and two different game sessions on two dif levels at two dif times, same problem both times.

How the hell’d you get 1.5 mg up with DSL...?
I thought I was screaming with 1.0 mg up Cable.
Yep, Amazon.com pooched the Halo 3 process. They viewed 9/25 as the “ship date” vs the “release date” so they are not shipping until 9/25 according to them.... dumbasses.....

I suppose I can (barely) wait an extra day.
Maj, they did that to me one-too-many times and I finally stopped using them for games.
Sorry to hear about that bro.
They were pretty much my only choice for Legendary unless I wanted to next day it from EB for an additionaL $10 on top of next day shipping charges. No local game store carried the Legendary (our only local source for games is Wal Mart.)
So far Legendary is pretty overstocked here in Montreal—lots of copies to be had wherever you go. Everything else is stocked well too, but no shortages on the Legendary for the moment..
I played co-op all night with 2 other players (total of 3). I can honestly say the
game ran flawlessly without so much as a hiccup. Given Andy’s experience, I
probably wasn’t the only one worried about how it was going to run. All I can tell
you is that it must depend on the individual gaming session - but for me it was
buttery smooth.
