People (as well as myself) are experiencing the “Downloading Game Settings” Message when they search for a game. This is due to a massive server overload!
Infinity Ward are trying to fix it and are aware of the problem:

Haven’t really had any issues connecting myself. Hopefully it will continue that way. Good luck to all those having issues.

hell i love kill cam should stay

I like the kill cam.  Lets me see where the bastard was that killed me so maybe I can learn my weaknesses.  Also, it’s easy to skip, so I don’t see the problem.

And I haven’t played much since the public got into the beta, but when I did I had to disconnect and reconnect to Live to get it working, but I have that problem with other games too, so I figure it’s just the way it is.

no probs with my end as well. However when this game releases some servers are going to have to be expanded massively. Tons and tons of terabytes.

I’d love to comment but the D*cks havent give out beta keys to uk players.

I’ve always loved the kill-cam. It turns, “OMFG, That guy is a cheating bastard!!” moments into, “Wow, I was just being stupid.” moments. Also if I’m testing out cover it gives me an enemies point of view to it instead of just thinking that I’m hidden well.

from a victim standpoint, the killcam is great, from the standpoint of a sniper, it sucks ass.  Having your position given away after every kill sucks when you are the killer.

Kill-Cam is great, I have actually gotten better at the game by studying my deaths, especially Vacant.

Funny thing is I’m in teh UK, however I have received a token!! hehehehe…..

btw this is the best beta for a game ive ever played. im definately buying this game.

I’m happy with the Kill Cam’s current implementation. Like Gemini Ace said, it’s helpful to know how you got killed, and it’s easy to skip. I don’t see any problems there.

From the victim POV, I think Kill Cam is great.  Froma balance point of view, I think it sucks.  You can communicate to your team exactly where you died and from where, the point of being a sniper is finding a nice hiding spot and killing from range undetected.  This feature negates that.

Sure, I use the hell out of it when I am killed to learn where the enemy is hiding, but, I don’t think I should be able to do so.

I think a major complaint in FPS is the role of a sniper and how unstoppable they can become.  The kill cam forces the sniper to not be such a camper and to move around.  I still managed to go on hell of a sniping streak before my location was found out.  A lot of times you still cannot pinpoint the exact location of the snipers perch.

Completely agree.

Maj: If you think the killcam makes the game unbalanced, you don’t know much about balance. Both teams/every player is given the same advantage, and there is no ####### skill in camping. This is a great countermeasure to the camping that goes on in alot of other games.

i didnt get to apply for the beta due to busyness.  DARNIT!

I hate when people call sniping in a strategy, real world FPS game camping.

Camping is griefing by sitting on a spawn point and killing people who never had a chance to spawn and get going.

IF you want a real world tactical experience, you should have to deal with snipers.  Their job is to sit in one place, don’t move, and shoot people at range when they get a target.  Strategic defense of an objective is not camping.

I think the sticking point I find is that they go through the trouble of making a very effective Ghillie suit, then negate the thing with the Kill Cam.  May as well have a bright orange jumpsuit as the uniform for a sniper.

I think the kill cam is very cool overall.  I really think the Ghillie suit is what makes me question the point of it all.

Like I said, I will use the #### out of the Killcam to see who is after me.  But the dead man being able to call in support on a position IS unbalanced.  Dead men should be muted until they respawn.
