Well, i never thought it was really a price drop, seeing how the ps3 was still 500 or 600 bucks, but now its even more officially fake.  The 60 GIG ps3 is being phased out.

Now, it’s possible that Sony will continue to produce the 60GB SKU, but I don’t think that’s the plan as of now. They might change their minds after they see how much they pissed off the community, though.

If Sony want to give the customer value at the silly price the the system is right now. 

Get rid of the 80 gig Hard drive and Resistence Fall of man and put either a 750 Gig hard drive or go for a 1T hard drive and it won’t seem so bad.

First off the did say until supplies last and that will probably last through the end 07. Second now they really pissed people off saying fu to all the early adopters and saying that the 499 will only last while supplies last. All they are doing is goosing the sales. So after fall and some good games come out they go back to 599 when they can say hay look we go games too. But thats just my thoughts.
