Just curious what people use to play their consoles.  Im in the market for a new lcd tv and wanted input on it.  I cant spend over 1000 at most and would like to stick it around 700-800 if possible.  I have seen some reviews on NewEgg for Westinghouse, Olivia, Vizio, sceptre.  Many of these got good reviews.  Im really tring to stick with a retail store so I can finance it over a year - 2 yrs (best buy).  I dont know if newegg does financing. (do they?).  Anyhoo - INPUT!

My advice is to go to the store that has the financing you are interested and take a look at the display models.

Look at the color of each LCD in your price range and see which display gives the best colors and still has a good refresh rate.  I watch for the best flesh tone shicen that is the thing I notice tends to get a bit crappy looking on some LCD models (like when humans look orange).  Try to find a TV with 8 ms or less refresh as well.

I ended up going with a 42” Bravia LCD which is well out of the price range you specified.  The next best pictures when I was shopping were on the Sharp and Samsung models.

I use this exact T.V. You can get it at Circuit City for the same price listed and get a 2 year warranty and such for $100. everything you read there is true. I have had the T.V. since December and not a problem with it yet.

Samsung HL-S5088W DLP. No burn in, ever.

DLP?  I said my price range was 1000 max.  DLP is 1500 MINIMUM.  Usually 2500-3500.

I use a Samsung LNS-4041D. If you find a really good deal, you can get one for under $1k, now.

I was simply answering the question posed in the title - that is what I use to play my consoles 😉

And you may want to give DLP another look. Not as expensive as you quoted, especially if you know where to look...

You could not be more wrong. My HDTV was $1500, and it’s a 40 inch Samsung.

I think that this is what you’re looking for (though, the displays are black, I could only find a white one):

thats it!! Nice!!  Ill have to go see if that will be big enough - its for a bedroom that about 16ft x 16ft or so.  The player will be sitting anywhere from a 3 feet away (foot of the bed) to about 7 feet away.  I cant really go higher than 1000 max and i love samsung.

For a room of that size, at that distance, you’ll probably be alright. You may want to step it up to a 26” set, though.
