i have a sony str-de597 stereo reciever with a pair of jbl e60’s, a 100 watt sub, and a pair of jbl e10’s wired into it.  My problem is that all my mp3’s are on my pc so i have it wired into that, but the reciever overheats after only a few minutes with minimal volume level. also, the reciever is in a cabinate thing in my room with plenty of space around it and is not sitting ontop of any other electronics. my question is, what is causing it to overheat, my wiring job, the computer or its sound card, or is the reciever defective?  thanks to anyone with ideas

add some fans. Maybe some water cooling? Or you know what, put it in front of an airvent, since its summer and all u know u have the AC on. But dont do this during the winter, just put it out in the snow during the winter.  😉
