I believe that is what virus creators try to do.. is make viruses that Norton doesn’t detect so that it infects the system… don’t think they wanna make viruses that Norton can detect :D

Well it’s all a game to them. Practically a sport. They want to write the next big virus and make the news. Maybe they should try to make the news by doing something good?

Yes, that is why there are virus updates all the time. If you dont update your software by downloading new definitions, the virus wont be detected by your AV engine.

yes. couple of months ago i had to format my game. gay norton didnt pick a virus and it totally fuked my comp. and yes i have it updated. now im using kaspersky. great product  use kaspersky for real-time protection and f-prot for on demand scanner. norton and mafaee are the mostly commonly used av out there so i think those ppl would make viruses that would easily bypass those av protection.

NAV isnt big thing…. There’s no such thing as a invulnerable pc…
“The only secure computer is the one disconnected”....

Its something that happends everyday… When you walk on the street, you cant be 0 sure that you wont get robbed…

As new virus appears, Antivirus’ Companies release a patch or update… Its continuous….

im sure there are some geeks that could.

Programmers, to be more specific

Norton is definitely not the best anti-virus program, and I’ve heard many people agree. I used to use it, but stopped after I used a web scanner, and found some stuff it didn’t.

The web scanner can be found at http://housecall.trendmicro.com
Avast! is a very good one too. It’s free.
I haven’t heard much about Panda Anti-virus (you have to pay for it), but as far as I can tell, it’s quite a good one and worth getting.
AVG from Grisoft has been recommended by some people, but personally, I don’t think it’s quite good.
McAfee, well, don’t even ask. I really don’t like it.

Hope that helps! 😊

i use trend micro internet seucrity.  i got a trial version and cant use the auto updater but i just download updates from their website for free.  sp2’s security alert thing tells me when its time to update.  i didnt even need to pirate anything and i get an awesome program.
