Hi, I hope I don’t sound like a complete moron when I say this, but I’ve found a nice font online, and I’ve downloaded it to my computer. However, I don’t know what to do after that. LOL CAn someone help me? =\

Once someone helps me with this, I don’t mind this thread being deleted forever. =P

Thanks in advance to those who help me! =)

To install fonts on your computer, you just need to navigate to the fonts folder. I’m going to assume you have Windows XP, if you don’t the process I think is exactly the same for other versions of Windows.

There are two ways to get to the fonts folder: First way is go to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts. The second (easiest) way is go to your control panel, and open “Fonts”. Both methods bring up the same folder. There will be a folder with a list of all the fonts you currently have installed. Drag and drop the new font you downloaded to the folder, and it will install it for you. That should be all you need to do! It will show up in font lists when you select fonts, and will work on webpages and other places fonts are used.

Hmmm, it’s not letting me drag and drop the font I downloaded… I know I’ve done this before, but it just won’t go. Maybe I got a wrong file type or something…? I dunno =\ I tried copying and pasting the fonts as well, and I tried copying and pasting the compressed folder the font came in (that looked more promising than actually copying the *font*), but nothing seems to be dragging and dropping into the Fonts folder. =(

The font was indeed zipped. It’s in a compressed folder, and the font has the .ttf file extension.

Does it matter if it’s zipped?

you have to unzip it, then extract the file and put it in your fonts folder
