HTML- It meas Hyper text markup language. and it is use to develop web page.
XHTML- It is a extensible Hyper Text Markup language and it is new version of html or we can say that it is HTML+XML.

XHTML-It means extensible Mark up language and it is used to develop web page with XML facilities with W3C standards.

The difference is that all tags must close, either by using a corresponding closing tag which has a slash, like paragraph (  ) for example, or some tags are self closing like the above img src tag and line break (
). In HTML, many of these tags were simply left open.

XHTML- It is a new developed version of HTML and it has both feature of HTML and XML and it is also case sensitive program.

HTML- It is a Hyper Text markup language and it is not case sensitive.

XHTML is case sensitive, HTML is not. All tags and attributes must be lowercase in XHTML.XHTML as XML must be well trained. Each item must have an end tag, or use the self-closing tag syntax. HTML allows some end tags and even some tags are beginning to be omitted.

Using a closing tag for a bar, like paragraph () for example, or some are closing tags such as img src tag above and newline.

As the only thing is that I want to say you that both languages are available in three flavors: Frameset, Transitional and Strict. As I am using that both and also want to say you that both of them are that much easy than any other language.
