I think for HDTV being so expensive there is not enough channels for it.

For the price though HDTV in my opinion is well worth it. My cousin has HDTV and the clarity between his TV and mine is like night and day. I think my summer purchase is going to be an HDTV or a HDTV tuner for my computer.

I’m loving how people are reviving 4 year old threads just to get points and with The Dragon.

Regardless, I’ve got Shaw providing my cable (in Manitoba, Canada) and there’s probably about 14 HD channels by now, and I rarely watch any of them.  No point having a nice picture if there’s nothing worth watching.

I don’t plan on buying a HDTV anytime soon, but I am looking around on these threads for good recommendations. Also, I don’t watch too, too much TV and my TV is working fine, so I don’t think I’ll end up buying one anytime soon.

Since the start of this post, television stations have made huge strides in getting digital format established.  With under 60 days left before the full fledged digital cutover takes place, most stations are still in the “education” phase.  Once the nation is in full digital broadcast mode, expect a lot more effort being put into digital content.  Also remember that the stations that are broadcasting in DTV format are doing so at reduced output levels.
Things are going to get a whole lot better in short order.  One caveat though, if you haven’t upgraded your legacy tv to be able to receive digital signals, you better act fast.  Knowing which digital to analog (DTV) converter box is best is paramount. These units are flying off the shelves and stocks are dwindling fast.

Better get your butt in gear before it’s too late.

The DirecTV and the HDTV, both provide the international programming facility, which enables you to view top international programs. The HDTV network offers you with more international programming facility. Some of the additional international programs include African, Brazilian, Armenian, French, German, Israeli, Japanese and many more.

I didn’t own it yet and was planned for it when we were shifted from the city. There are number of HD DIRECT’s providers, just find them at internet and call them to buy it. Yes, one thing you have to check it before going to buy it for your home.

The only thing that will work with DirecTV is not out yet. It is the HDPC-20, and is built around Windows 7 I know I am looking forward to this as well, as I have DirecTV.

With technology evolving at such a rapid pace, buying a new TV can be an intimidating proposition.HDTV is the next step up from digital television.Although HDTV uses about the same bandwidth as analog signals,HDTV transmits more than six times the information, leading to a huge improvement in sound and quality.

I would not pay for the tuner just for the HD content on DirecTV. But as those tuners also tune in the OTA telecasts, it is worth getting the tuner.

I have Direct TV and almost all of the channels I watch frequently are in HD. I think it comes down to the television networks filming in HD and offering HD programming, not your cable service provider.
