I’m sure some of the forum members if not most have tried out firefox as a web browser.  If you hadn’t noticed, yesterday they released version 1.0 (the first non-beta release).  What does everyone think?  Personally I had a hell of a time getting extensions downloaded and themes… I think the server demand yesterday must have been higher than anticipated.  That being said, it seems like I may be switching from IE altogether.  Now all I have to do is convince IT to let me put it on my work computer!

Well the extensions downloads are a pain right now because of one main reason: traffic that wasn’t accounted for. The server is in a beta release and is not expecting to take a HUGE amount of hits, which seems to be the problem. They are experiencing a lot of traffic, probably having figured not many people would be downloading the extensions. I personally like 1.0 the best of any browser, despite the ActiveX support. They really NEED to put this in on a later patch, because many users are forced to use Internet Explorer, but personally, I use slim browser for it. Anyways, I haven’t had a lot of time to look at it, but so far so good—hell, you can even skin it, but wait for the updated skins, because the new version will not load the PR skins.

the only thing is tabbed browsing? you’re missing the other thing: security.

Tab navigation in well-established, retrieve, theme and extension functions of management are many; import IE is smart and easy, open source design custom theme, it is fun to watch, also built in research..

Firefox is a fast, a full browser for Windows that makes browsing more efficient than ever. Firefox includes pop-up blocking, a form of tabbed browsing, which lets you open multiple pages in one window, the Google search.

Yes, I like firefox and the various and useful plug-ins. IE sucks. It crashes all the time. I will stick with Firefox.

Did you know that you can run more than one Firefox profile at once? This can be extremely useful if you want to test out extensions more easily, create a web development profile, run a slimmed down profile just for Gmail, or if you just want to have a clean profile.

The first thing you’ll need to do is create a new profile. You’ll need to run the following from a run dialog or command prompt, adjusting the path if necessary.

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -profilemanager

Create an extra profile by using the Create Profile wizard, and make sure that each profile has a distinct name. You’ll also want to leave the “Don’t ask at startup” box checked.

The next thing you’ll want to do is make another shortcut to Firefox. You can just copy/paste the current shortcut if you feel like it, then open up the properties page and go to the Shortcut tab.

Add the following to the end of the Target box :

-P PROFILENAME -no-remote

Now on the second shortcut, which I suggest you give a relevant name to, go into the same place except use the profile name for the secondary profile. Make sure you use the -no-remote option!

Now you should be able to use either shortcut to open a new Firefox window specific to that profile. Extensions, bookmarks, themes, will all be specific to the profile, and a new profile will start off at default.

Note: This assumes you are using Firefox 2.0. If you aren’t, then you should be.

Firefox 4 has a completely different interface, some of the Opera and Google Chrome. Firefox 4 has some new buttons and a full menu that looks like an opera was 10.6.

I used firefox browser for a long time and found it good to use, especially its bookmark function. Now it has its firefox 6.0, it’s safe and fast. Maybe it’s not so fast as google chrome, but it works well as a whole.
