I know this is gonna sound like a stupid question, but what are the blog posts? I dont see anything that says blog post.

The blog posts are the stories/articles posted on the GearLive.com page or the other Gear Live websites.

Actually, something that I think will bring in a lot of the viewers to become active registered members is to do what SmileyXX said and build upon the point system. Right now, the point system doesn’t have much value other than for some contests and giveaways. But, we could introduce something that uses the point system to make it seem valuable to viewers so they’ll register and be active. For example, we could have a member of the week and member of the month kind of thing. The user who earns the highest amount of points in a week becomes the member of the week and the four or five members of the week could be put into a random drawing to see who becomes the member of the month. The winner of the member of the month could win a GearLive tee-shirt or something else. It doesn’t have to be exactly like that, but building upon the point system to make it valuable to users should bring in a bunch of registers.

Why not have a contest that will see who can bring in the most people to join and be active. That would get more people on the website. Instead of points just recommend the website to people and when they sign up they can put on there the username of who recommended them. That may get this site up and moving.

That will just bring in a bunch of 2 day users who sign up to help a friend. It will be who can spam a link the quickest.
I also believe the point system needs some more integration as i suggested in the suggestion forum. It seems to have been implemented for the Dragon Conest then dissapeared. It would be great to have some sort of program where users can spend their points. Even if its online stuff like, memberships to websites or something. That would definately keep people posting!

It is weird how Gear Live is so popular but very few people comment on blog posts and even fewer people join/post on the forums. I really did hope we would see a lot of new people with the iPhone contest, considering there are so many iPhone 3G contests going on right now all over the internet. As for the points system, I hope Gear Live looks at a couple of suggestions and does something with it, but it is their choice and I respect whatever happens with the point systems in the future.

Jessica,

I don’t think its a 3G iPhone. I think its old school.  The new ones haven’t been released yet so they wouldn’t have been able to get it painted.

Its not a 3G iPhone. Its the original iPhone since they are giving you the option to get the customized one or a regular iPhone to basically sell if you want to get to 3G iPhone when it becomes available on the 11th

I agree, hence why I’m entering the contest. It will be the only way I’ll ever get an iPhone and at those kind of prices my money would be better spent elsewhere then on a phone.
