I would like a projector than a flat screen because, we can carry a projector outside but we cannot carry a flat screen, more over if we have a projector, it will be useful especially in the evenings, we can project a movie on a wall and watch the movie, even we can share the movie with lots of members, like our friends, family.

I would prefer a Flat Screen over the projector, but it also depends on the projector, if the projector has a high Resolution, then the projector is the way to go, but currently, there aren’t’ much affordable projectors with high resolutions, with the low resolution projectors, and you project a large image on the wall, you would be able to identify individual pixels, this can be annoying to some, but if the resolution of the projector is higher, then the pixels would not be so obvious when the image is projected and the quality of the picture would be clearer. But you have to remember, Projector requires Lamps if they blow, and it usually cost a lot. It depends on your price range.

Don’t the lamps in the projectors have to be replaced quite often? I like the idea of portability but I believe the lamps are still not cheap.
I imagine it really is six of one and half a dozen of the other. Are you planning on building a dedicated home theater? I could be really wrong on this but I think your choices would also have to include how dark you could make the room. I think a projected image would get washed out more easily than a LED/Plasma TV. Also, if memory serves, some/most of the projectors use a color wheel. I’ve read reports that some people can see a rainbow effect. These are the same people that can see the fluttering of florescent lights.

I would say a flat screen LCD or plasma TV over a projector.  In order to get a projector that would rival the HD quality of a flat screen TV, you would have to shell out a lot of money for both the equipment, the projectors, and any equipment inside the projector such as the lamps.  This would be particularly difficult depending on your home.  In my home there is absolutely no way we could put a projector in as the room is fairly narrow and no real good place to project the image.

Flat-screen monitors use low amounts of power. This is because the LCD technology they use consists of a panel which is lit by a backlight, creating a visible image. The backlight is usually some form of fluorescent lamp or, in very modern displays, a light emitting diode. Both methods do not require much power. The result is a reduction in power consumption of 50 to 80 percent less than a CRT display. This is enough to be noticeable on an electrical bill if a display is used frequently.

Everyone seems to prefer flat screen over a projector.
I personally would go for projectors.

As per my thought both plays their own role. The main purpose of projector is to represent big screen with mate finish. And the purpose of LCD TV is for home purpose. So if you are planning to use for indoor use and for daily purpose then LCD TV is the best choice and if it is for outdoor like in shows or some presentation then it is better to ur projector. Of course the power consumption will vary in both. LCD TV took much less power then projector and that is the reason why for daily purpose we prefer LCD instead of projector.

That’s right. I agree. TV will always be my choice than projector. I would only recommend projector for trainings and seminars.

I am cast my vote in favor of big Flat Screen TV because projector will not give same result as TV. On technical grounds also its more comfortable & easy to avail & accommodate a TV rather projector.

I prefer big flat screen tv in place of projector. Video projectors do not have RF cable or antenna connections like a television has. Projectors are good for office and seminars not for home.

If I had a chance then I will buy a projector rather than a flat screen TV because projector can be used for other purposes too and TV will only for entertainment.  I am going to start a coaching batch and will demonstrate the project through this device.

I would suggest you big flat screen television because video projectors do not have antenna connections like a television has and projectors have a very limited bulb life.

I would like to say that I am unable to say anything about it, I got a new topic to research so I’ll tell you later.
