This going to sound really bad, but I always liked a lot of Mariah Carrey’s songs.  The combination of beats and vocal power rocks me.  <Shrug>

Do you negotiate payments and stuff?  Do you get a percentage of band-ticket sales?

They are an unsigned band, we don’t make money.  We are all working together and the little money we get from gigs goes back into the band for CDs and promotion and gas to shows.

Eventually if they get signed, I will get my 10%

In R&B, I’d have to say Stevie Wonder. That man can do just about anything he wants with his voice. I wish I had his sheer versatility.

In Jazz, I think Ms. Sassy herself, Sarah Vaughan was the best vocalist ever. She had the jazz chops of Ella Fitzgerald, and the vocal beauty and clarity of any classical singer.

There are tons of honorable mentions, but those two are my personal favorite Male and Female vocalists.

Al Green makes the ladies swoon. Billie Holiday’s voice makes me feel tingly inside.

The school you are going to soon, Peddie School…wow, very beautiful…

I am liking Frou Frou, Maria Mena…I don’t like choosing a favorite of all time, so those are my favorites right now.

Like, for the R+B stuff, I just recently heard “Living for the City” and I gotta say Stevie Wonder.

But for the music I care for, I say Robert Plant. One of the greatest vocal ranges known to man.

Ooh…this is a toughie.

I’m going to have to go with Seal.  The song “Kiss from a Rose” has always been a favorite of mine.  But Brandon Boyd and Tori Amos are awesome as well.

God damn it, they said singer not rapper, other wise mine would be 2pac.  BTW who knows Hikaru Utada, her songs are really great, especially simple and clean from the game kingdom hearts.
