TF,
You’re accusing me of being snarky?  Honestly I don’ care if you or anyone else listens - I do this because I like to talk, and if people want to listen thats their choice.  As to treating you like a second class citizen, every time you address me or my show in one of your posts it feels like you’re attacking me.  Maybe its just the way you phrase things, but I’ve felt like I was on the defensive with you since you came back.  Do what you want man, free country.

I just reread my contributions to this post and I don’t see where I attacked you first.  I disagreed with some of your points, and tried to explain how I see things, as I will continue to do when I disagree.  I’ve heard a couple of people here try to blame the Wii for the decline of the industry and I tried to frame my response to reflect that it wasn’t specifically towards any one person.

I will try to take extra care to use neutral language, in the future, so you don’t feel attacked.  That’s all I can do.

I liked Elaine, but she seemed to fill a spot very similar to the female morning radio show co-host, who only comments occasionally and lets everyone else basically run the show. There was a lot more back-and-forth between Ryan and Andy than there was between anyone and Elaine.

Yes but Elaine provided good quality info (or punch) line every time she spoke. Ryan seemed like an attention whore and sorry but Andy is the attention whore of the show..... I mean it’s called “Gamer Andy Live” for a reason.

I didn’t say it was a bad thing. I like Elaine. I was just saying that she reminded me of that particular situation.

My vote is definately for Elaine, she does a great job for 360 Arcadians. Her comments were well thought out and insightful, while Ryan just came across as obnoxious and trying to hard to be funny

Thats enough bashing of Ryan guys,
It takes alot of guts to do something like that - None of us are experts at this by any means, and while we appreciate the feedback theres no need to tear the guy down.

Lets get the rest of this thread discussing the content of the show

I did end up gaming with RYan on Live the night I listened to the show, when he listened to the show he himself did not like the way he came off either.  It takes even more guts to admit you did not come off well on top of the nerve it took to try the thing.  Its a learning experience and he is honestly a good kid.

I hope he doesn’t think I was bashing him I thought he was good I just like making stupid jokes. I thought Ryan was good he just needs to know when to be quiet sometimes and when he should talk. It’s hard to learn that timing. I am personally a little scared of how I am going to do on the show when my time comes.

jeez to much aggressive discussion this time around (not on the show - in the forums).  Buy what games you LIKE, for christ sake.  If you think a game sucks, then that is an opinion of your own, and while people may agree with you, other might not - the point is nobody cares what you think.  People play games cause they like playing them , and if they dont like a game - then they wont buy it -repeat, but its easy as that.

As far as Lair is concerned, whos fault is it?  Its the developers fault for making a poor game.  Nobody else.  Factor 5 did Jenee’ darc for the PSP, which is one of the most amazing game pieces ive seen in some time.  Phenominally put together.  They are fully capable of good work, but there is nobody to blame but those who made it,,,and perhaps those who hyped it up for making it so falsely important.

Good show as always,

PS: I have no problem with Final Fantasy 1,000,000 etc, as they all have separate story lines and have nothing to do with each other (and play quite differently).  I LOVE Final Fantasy 12.  If they made, say, a world war 2 shooter 13 times, then that might get kind of redundant......

Honestly, Ryan didn’t bother me at all. I mean, maybe a little of all the stuff you guys noted, but I like that he’s knowledgable and stays on topic. I mean, as it stands he now knows how you all feel about any level of immaturity or whatever and can change how he acts on the show. I’d rather not scare off a guy who does seem like he knows what he’s talking about and willing to talk about it. Give the guy a chance.

Also, screw you Andy. Screw you and your Rick-Rolling ways.

Either way, I liked the podcast. I think it went over quite well and I hope to see more like it!

I, for one, would listen to either of them again. They both bring a different perspective which allows me to consider viewpoints that I may not have seen before.

I say keep them both in a rotating stable of back-up hosts i.e. a pool that you can pull from if that’s possible and/or the plan.

Like Major said I relized my pefomance on the show was not great. After listening through the show again I herd many of my flaws. For exmple I was curseing a little too much even for GAL, I feel really bad for talking over Elaine and Andy a lot (sorry Elaine), and last I need to clam the hell down. So to everyone in the GAL community I hope this shows you my true character.

True dat.  It is the devs that bother me in the case of the Wii, and not Nintendo.  I have no problem giving money to Nintendo, I buy a lot of their crap.  I hope the Wii is just going through growing pains like the DS did.  The DS was very gimicky until devs learned how to use it, I hope the Wii is the same.

Wii sports bowling is a good example of how good Wii control can be, and Wii sports golf and boxing are good examples of how bad it can be too.

I would kill to see Nintendo come up with a fresh IP this decade though.

(I will be on Wii Animal Crossing like stink on ####, Wiimote fishing and bug catching FTW)

Being a proven dev doesn’t mean #### however.  I have seen so many good dev houses go in the shitter.  Blizzard and Valve are usually the two companies I respect the most in releasing a solid product every time.  Their development lifecycles are huge and they delay a lot, but when they put their name on it, it is usually ####### sick.

Hey, this I completely agree with. I do see the potential in the Wii, and I do think it’ll follow similar lines as the DS did. When developers realize that they can create a game and use what functions of the Wii that they feel is necessary for the game design, instead of trying to tack on motion sensing when there is no reason for it. Just like the DS where in the start devs were using the touch screen interface in a very “tacked on” way. Games on the DS does not need to use the touch screen, hell, they don’t even need two screens, but they use what they need of features to create games. I do hope and believe that the Wii will find its place in the same way, making it a pretty unique system, right now though, there are only a few titles that are doing this.

As for Blizzard and Valve, pretty much what I think of them as well. I don’t have that much confidence in Valve since they haven’t really done THAT much yet, but what they have done has been exceptional.

As far as Valve is concerned, I will pretty much eat up anything they make. I upgraded my computer for the sole purpose of Orange Box. Of course, I’ll be using it for other games, but Orange Box was my main motivation.
