Is $49.95 too much to pay for a game?

Most of my collection is “Greatest Hits” titles.  And even the ones that aren’t, I bought used for a lower price.  Plus, look at ESPN 2K5.

Me too.  I can’t afford that ind of cash outlay any more.  Owning a house is too expensive.  I went back and bought a PSX for $15 on ebay.  I can get games Buy 2 get one free at a local game store, so it’s a sweet deal.

My local store doesn’t make you pay tax if you…ahem…pay cash.

Yeah it is too much.  THe last game I bought was Metal Gear Solid:  THe Twin Snakes.  It was only $40 so that’s why I bought.

I don’t buy many new games.  I like the old ones.

I don’t mind paying $50 if it’s a game I’m gonna play more than 5 mins—Take morrowind for the XBOX—I have nearly 500 hours logged in that game, and I’m still not finished…actually I’m wondering if the game ever ends.  :?

Most of the time I’ll save up a $100-150 and check out eBay, usually you can get 10 game lots in that price range…so 10 games for $150 isn’t a bad deal at all—they may just be a few months old…no biggie

I think it’s too much. I rarely buy new releases because of the high price.

Thats why i do trade-in most of the time. Once I a rip a copy I trade the game in and pay the difference. Max difference i ever pay was like $20.

It’s only worth it for some games.  I have spent $70 on Morrowind and its expansion on Xbox.  It’s worth it because its a great addicting game.  However, I spent $50 on Sega GT 2002 and it was a complete waste.  The game sucks and I’ve only spent about 5 hours playing it.

Personally, I’m a budget gamer.  Sometimes $19.99 is too much.

I usually trade in games when I want a new one because for $50 that game better be made of goddamn magic. I’m just a poor lowly gamer who needs his fix.

I seriously laughed out loud for that one. Haha, I’d like to have some real magic, myself.

Grand Theft Auto III and it’s sequels are worth $50 because you can play them forever.  The new one is going to eat my soul and spit it back with 100 less hours of life than it had to begin with.
