Do you think John Kerry will have a good speech tonight?

Seems like he has several great acts to follow.  Honestly, I haven’t seem him do a long extended speech yet, but many people say he lacks the charisma.

I’m not a big fan of these conventions (democratic or republican).  Its just a bunch of promises to get you to vote for them and to celebrate your own party.  I pay attention to facts and if the promises were kept or not.

What’s your best source to keep track of this?  It would seem the promises are made here and you can check throughout their term.  But by then it’s too late.

I vote on “promises” but I don’t need to watch 4 days worth of blowing smoke up your own @$$ to find out what they are.

Nothing being said at these conventions should be much of a surprise to anyone who follows the news.

I already know who I am voting for.  I personally don’t think these conventions convince anyone who to vote for a candidate because its a very partial and bias event, for democrats and republicans.

I wish there was a simple way to see all the issues, and where each candidate stands on each, along with specific promises that they have made, as well as previous efforts they’ve made to support or hinder those types of promises.

You already know who you are voting for, even before the debates?  :?

Most interesting debate should be Cheney vs Edwards.  They say there is such a stark contrast between each of the two, and their approaches.

I’ve known who I was voting for since 2000.

And besides, the conventions are just a way for the parties to celebrate themselves and have the puppets, oops, I mean candidate say what the delegates want to hear so they have a reason to scream and hold up banners.

For me it was right after Bush announced his Iraq thing.

I am trying to be cautious and not give out who I am voting for and I hope others should either.  Allows for a more unique discussion when you don’t know what side someone is arguing for.

Besides, if you debate with someone and you know the issues and facts, you should be able to tell what side they are on or if they are in the middle or on the outside

I am undecided right now - however, in the last election (which is the first one I was able to vote for due to my age), I voted Nader.

Between Bush and Kerry…for me its a toss up at this point. It’s popular to dislike and make fun of Bush, but it doesnt mean he is doing a bad job running the country.

if you are legal voting age in the USA, it is your duty to at least inform yourself of the issues being discuss in your own government.  if you arent into the political world, at least be knowledgable that the decisions that affect your lives are being made by someone you may or may not support and if you dont agree with what they are saying, your are only allowed to complain if you vote in elections or else you are complaining without doing anything to make a change.
