well,  I didn’t buy it, but I got to play it for a few hours….its downright creepy is you have the right computer set up. the graphics are amazing. everything from 640x480@low to 1280x1024@ultra is great. the low settings on this game would be the high settings on some, lol. the controls are simple, the game is a lil hard, haha. the flashlight is your friend in this game, and unfortunatly, you can’t shoot and have ur light out at the same time. this makes the game very interesting: lookin around with your light, you see a zombie, the zombie sees you. you switch to your gun and start shooting blindly in the dark. switch back to the flashlight, check to see if it’s 1)dead or 2)jumping at your face slashing your eyes out. don’t try to hide either, they’ll come after you with a vengence.

if you want a good scare, play this game on a system with a 5.1/6.1 sound system. and no lights.

Actually I think you’re just about right in your assessment, based on all that I’ve read so far.  It’s funny though how high the PC requirements are.  Makes you wonder if it’s really a better engine, or if it’s just more poly’s being thrown around.  :|

I believe that means it was a crappy predacessor of DOOM3

At least when I refer to something as ghetto, it’s 1) Beat up looking 2) Crappy 3) insanely generic

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t read it to mean pirated.

by ghetto old i meant very old.  i think it was doom that i played.. it was on my dad’s computer which is a hunk of junk and had terrible graphics and was extremely old.  I think it was Doom 95.. i’ve never really played doom or followed it’s creation so i really don’t know all that much about the different ones.

I have it waiting at home to be installed (I’m at school now). Basically just seeing how well it will run on my comp.

It’s funny though how high the PC requirements are.

I heard that at the best quality there is no video card that could handle it.

i played it on a 9800 pro (amd 64 3000+ i think)...it was choppy on 1080x768 on medium quality….you definitly need an x800 pro or x800 xt pe…..a gig of ram woudn’t hurt either. but even playing it on low at 640x480, it was still pretty. and scary.
