easiest way is to get a friend that knows how, and to have them walk you through the process.

Hmm, a lot of Radeon 9800 owners here.  How much do they go for?

Around $200 now. Best place to buy is newegg.com. But most of my comp supplies there.

if u manage to get one w/a r360 core, you can flash it to a 9800xt and save u shitloads of money.  😊

i have a “conqueror” (haha) fx 5200 plus geforce fx
i got it for this past christmas.. i really wanted an ati radeon.  I wanted a new vid card before half life 2 came out and I heard that was highly recommended.  Of course we get to the comp store and my mom’s like “what’s wrong with this one it’s cheaper and there’s a rebate”.. my reply “no mom I want this one it’s better”.. so a guy that worked there comes up and my mom asks him if the cheaper one is any good.. i tell him i want a new vid card before half life 2 and that i play a good amount of games.  of course he says that the cheaper one the geforce “conqueror” should be good enough for me.  So I got stuck with it.  But whatever it’s served me pretty well, I actually ended it up liking it.. although i haven’t compared it to an ati radeon so who knows. oh well whatever

[quote author=“FliPdice”]Does anyone by any chance have or know of a guide or something that explains how to build your own PC or how to put everything together?  I searched but couldn’t find anything.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

if you know what parts to buy, putting it together is like playing with legos 😊

I sincerely hope that he didn’t force the 5200 on you because you’re a girl… That would make me angry. The 5200, while a good card, is just BARELY DX9 compatible.

my old computer has a 9600 pro, which i wanted to put in my new computer but…
i bought a motherboard with pci express and g.e.a.r. (fake agp) so it supports both.  however, it turns out the 9600 is the only agp card incompatible wiht this mobo.  so i am using my friend’s leftover geforce4 mx 440.  I will get a geforce 6600gt or radeon x700 xt, whichever i can get my hands on first

i have a geforce 5500.  PCI.  dell doesn’t like to give people AGP slots, so im stuck.  I’d kill for a 9800 pro.

I’m currently using a GF4 TI 4400

If I ever have money to upgrade my computer (1ghz athlon) then I’ll be getting a new video card also.

Ati X800 XT from Gigabyte for one system, Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra for another. I spend a lot of money and time into building good pcs though, but my funds are hurting from it… hence why most of my attention is geared towards the free forums…haha.
