Hey,
I just found out this weekend there are cards you can put in your computer to decode satellites and get thousands of channels.

I guess you need a satellite dish and the card.

Has anyone ever done this?

If so, what card/dish did you get?  How good was the signal?  Did it only work when the weather was nice (e.g.: no rain, wind that screws up the dish).

this is possible, it used to be really easy to do. :D it works perfectly…..but this is all illegal, so there prolly won’t be any discussion about it.

There is nothing illigal if you are paying monthly for the card, from the people that own the sattelite.

it is if you’re rewriting the card for more channels than you paid for…..

well, im reading the post as an inquiry to equipment used to decode/encode the cards used for satellite to get channels not paid for.

Please clarify what you want to know. There are certain things that are illegal but others that are legal when it comes to that. If you want to go the illegal way with these cards, I suggest you stop. Direct Tv has been really tough on people that “steal” their service.

No, I want to do it legally.  I can’t even write my own HTML coding webpage, let alone reformat a card, rofl.
