Hey all,
Sorry it’s taken so long for me to come out with this, I was hoping it wouldn’t have to come to this

As of now, GAL is on hold for the foreseeable future - I just don’t have time to do it any more, and i’ve been frustrated with how crowded the gaming podcast space has become. Even when we were doing regular shows, our listener base was staying steady or declining slightly - No positive increases though.

My reasons for this are all old, and you’ve heard them before - Work is taking up more time than I’d like, and the time I do have I have to split between my girlfriend and actually playing games.

So thats it pretty much, it’s been a hellova ride.

I assume most of us have favorites on tour that we pull for when they’re on the leaderboard of a tournament.
I know some say they don’t…..they just enjoy watching good golf played, and they have no horse they’re backing.

But I thought it might be interesting if a lot of us regulars would name our current favorite golfers on tour.
And if you like, you can also name your all-time favorites too.
This of course has nothing to do with anybody’s record, so there are no “correct” answers that can be debated here.

I am an avid fan of Edie Britt of �Desperate Housewives� and watch every episode without fail. I really admire the guts and grit of Edie Britt and no one could have portrayed the character better than Nicollette Sheridan. I was however really disheartened when the character was suddenly bumped out of the show. Is it for sure that the character will no longer be a part of the show?

MAME Board project Update 11-13

Yes, little ol me is working on a MAME Board.

I have a lot of parts coming in right now. So heres what I got:

I have an arcade shell coming in (yes a real stand up one) for free. How? Craigslist.org
A nice 2.5GHz Celeron with 512mb Ram a 80gb Hard Drive. That was sold to me for an extra $100
The owner found out what I was building and threw in a nice 1500 Rom collection for MAME for free.

I’ll also be using a 17” CRT computer monitor as the visual.

All I need now is a nice Joystick setup.. which I would love to get the Arcade X setup, but the HanaHo is as good, and cheaper. Thats another 100 smackers.

It’ll get a paintjob and get a new Marquee put in as well for an extra $30.

But in the end.. I’ll have an MAME Board for under 300 bucks.. and plays almost every Arcade out there including the CPS3 games (ha ha! MvsC2!)

Keep an eye on this thread guys, cause photos are going to be put up sometime soon of the whole project.

Gear Live and GamerAndy are back, bringing you their final thoughts from PAX 2007, this time bringing Bobby Blackwolf along for the ride. We go over all the things we were impressed with at PAX, along with the things that left a bad taste in our mouths. Did you know that you can do almost everything in Assassin’s Creed just by pushing forward on the analog stick? Where is the skill in that? If you missed the 2007 Penny Arcade Expo and love video games, this is one to watch.

I really liked the discussion about gaming becoming more casual. It’s been a while since I’ve heard a discussion on GA that didn’t get ... let’s say heated. Either way I’ll leave the gaming changes topic to its own thread.

So what did you guys think of the PAX coverage? I’m really liking video stuff, but I think it was underutilized in this event. I mean, we got to se what everyone was wearing and the lovely shade of powder blue on Andrus DS, but outside of that I didn’t see as much footage of the convention as I would have liked to. Not that I’m complaining, from its conception I’ve always seen PAX as more of a jolly good time instead of something that needed to be reported on, which is why I didn’t have much pitty for Steve(some numbers here) when he was complaining that the press didn’t get enough time for interviews.

Either way I say keep up the good work.
